Koodappulam Lakshmana Swamy Temple is situated 3 kilometers from Ramapuram in the Kottayam district, along the route to Uzhavoor. It holds significant importance in the Nalambalam Pilgrimage.
Bharatheeya architecture is characterized by a distinct type of landscape. The lower-lying northern-eastern regions serve as a source of positive energy. In this temple, the land radiates with a vibrant essence, and its natural beauty aligns harmoniously with the vastu principles that can be appreciated in places like Madhuban or Vrindavan.
A four-handed idol of Lord Lakshmana, who bestows blessings upon his devotees, is enshrined here. In addition to the main deity, the temple houses Lord Sri Dakshinamurthi and Lord Ganapathi as sub-deities, while Yakshi and Rakshas are positioned as two figures outside. Adjacent to the Lakshmana Swamy temple, there is also a Bhadrakali idol, where the Goddess appears in her original fierce form.
Furthermore, an Ayyappa idol is installed separately near the Bhadrakali temple. Both of these shrines fall under the administration of the main temple. This spiritual center is owned by the renowned Kanjirappilli Mana, although the daily management of the temple is currently overseen by NSS Karayogam. The annual six-day celebration, known as Pallivetta, is held in accordance with the final day of Mandala kalam during the month of Dhanu.
കൂടപ്പുലം ശ്രീ ലക്ഷ്മണ ക്ഷേത്രം
രാമപുരത്തുനിന്ന് ഉഴവൂരിലേക്ക് പോകുന്ന വഴിയിൽ, മൂന്നു കിലോമീറ്റർ അകലെയായാണ് കുടപ്പുലം ലക്ഷ്മണ സ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. ഇത് നാലമ്പല ദർശന ക്രമത്തിൽ ഉള്ള ഒരു ക്ഷേത്രമാണ്. ശ്രീ ലക്ഷ്മണ സ്വാമിയുടെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠ ചതുർബാഹുവായും, നാലു കൈകളാൽ അനുഗ്രഹം വാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുള്ള രൂപത്തിൽ ആണ്.
പ്രധാന പ്രതിഷ്ഠാ മൂർത്തിയായ ലക്ഷ്മണ സ്വാമിക്ക് പുറമെ, ക്ഷേത്രത്തിനകത്ത് ശ്രീ ദക്ഷിണാമൂർത്തി, ശ്രീ ഗണപതി എന്നിവയും, പുറത്ത് യക്ഷി, രക്ഷസ് എന്നീ മൂർത്തികളും, പ്രത്യേകമായി ശ്രീ അയ്യപ്പന്റെ ക്ഷേത്രം ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നു. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ സമീപത്താണ് ഉഗ്രസ്വരൂപിണിയായ ഭദ്രകാളിയുടെയും സ്വാമി അയ്യപ്പന്റെയും ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങൾ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്.
മണ്ഡലകാലത്തിന്റെ അവസാന ദിവസം പള്ളിവേട്ടയുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട 6 ദിവസത്തെ വാർഷികോത്സവമാണ് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ നടത്തുന്നത്. നാലമ്പല തീർത്ഥാടനത്തിലെ രണ്ടാമത്തെ ക്ഷേത്രമായതിനാൽ, പതിനായിരക്കണക്കിന് ഭക്തജനങ്ങൾ രാമായണമാസത്തിൽ ദർശനത്തിനായി രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ വിവിധ ഭാഗങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നെത്തുന്നു. സാധാരണ സമയങ്ങളിൽ, ക്ഷേത്ര ദർശന സമയം രാവിലെ 5 മുതൽ 10.00 വരെയും, വൈകിട്ട് 5.30 മുതൽ 7.30 വരെയും ആണ്; നാലമ്പല തീർത്ഥാടന കാലത്ത്, രാവിലെ 5 മുതൽ 12.00 വരെയും, വൈകിട്ട് 5 മുതൽ 8 വരെയും ദർശനം ലഭ്യമാണ്.
