Kumaranalloor Devi Temple, which is dedicated to Goddess Kathyayan, is situated in Kumaranalloor, within the town of Kottayam.
Kumaranalloor Devi Temple is recognized as one of the 108 Durgalayas (Devi temples) located in Kerala. Historical and mythological evidence, along with various sources, suggest that Devi Kumaranalloor Devi has existed for over 2400 years. The temple is particularly renowned for its annual Trikarthika festival.
Architectural design of the temple is distinguished by the unique configurations of the nalambalam and sreekovil, both constructed in the sreechakra style, which features a ring-like object with a handle held in the right hand of the Devi. This architectural style is seldom encountered in temple constructions.
The temple occupies an area of 15,000 square meters. The principal gopuram, which serves as the entrance, is oriented towards the east. Surrounding the temple are tall walls, along with three additional gopurams located in the southern, western, and northern directions.

കോട്ടയം നഗരത്തിൽ നിന്ന് അഞ്ച് കിലോമീറ്റർ അകലെയാണ് കുമാരനല്ലൂർ ദേവി ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. സാധാരണ ദുർഗ്ഗാ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നും വ്യത്യസ്തമായ നിരവധി പ്രത്യേകതകൾ ഇവിടെ കാണപ്പെടുന്നു. മധുര മീനാക്ഷി സങ്കല്പത്തിൽ ദുർഗ്ഗാ പ്രതിഷ്ഠയുള്ളതാണ്. പരശുരാമൻ ആരാധിച്ച ദുർഗ്ഗാഭഗവതിയെ അഞ്ജനശിലയിൽ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നുവെന്ന് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു.
ചതുർബാഹുക്കളോടുകൂടിയ, കൈകളിൽ ശംഖും ചക്രവും വരദകടീബദ്ധമുദ്രകളും കൈവശമുള്ള വിഗ്രഹമാണ് ഇത്. ശ്രീചക്ര രീതിയിൽ പണികഴിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ശ്രീകോവിലും നാലമ്പലവുമാണ് ഇവിടെ ഉള്ളത്. കേരളത്തിലെ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഇത്തരത്തിലുള്ള നിർമ്മിതികൾ വളരെ അപൂർവ്വമാണ്. കുമാരനല്ലൂർ ഭഗവതിയുടെ പിറന്നാൾ തൃക്കാർത്തികയിൽ ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നു. ഈ തൃക്കാർത്തിക ആഘോഷം വളരെ പ്രശസ്തമാണ്. കാർത്തിക നാളിൽ ഇവിടെ പള്ളിവേട്ടയും നടക്കുന്നു. ഈ ആഘോഷം പത്തു ദിവസങ്ങളോളം നീണ്ടുനിൽക്കുന്നു.
വൃശ്ചിക മാസത്തിലെ കാർത്തിക നാളിൽ, തൃശൂർ വടക്കുംനാഥ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ഒരു തവണ വില്വമംഗലം സ്വാമിയാർ എത്തുകയും ചെയ്തു. എന്നാൽ, ശ്രീകോവിലിൽ വടക്കുംനാഥന്റെ സാന്നിധ്യം ഇല്ലെന്ന് തന്റെ ദിവ്യദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞ സ്വാമിയാർ, വടക്കുംനാഥനെ തേടി പുറപ്പെടുകയും തെക്കേ മിതിലുനു സമീപം ഭഗവാന്റെ അടുത്തെത്തിയതായി അറിയുകയും ചെയ്തു. ആറാട്ട് കഴിഞ്ഞെത്തുന്ന കുമാരനല്ലൂർ ദേവിയെ കാണുവാനാണ് താനിവിടെ നിൽക്കുന്നതെന്ന് വടക്കുംനാഥൻ സ്വാമിയാരോട് പറഞ്ഞത്. അന്നുമുതൽ വൃശ്ചികമാസത്തിലെ കാർത്തിക നാളിൽ വടക്കുംനാഥ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ മധ്യ പൂജ തെക്കുവശത്ത് നടക്കുന്നു.
