Malliyoor Sree MahaGanapathy Temple features a distinctive representation of the presiding deity as Vaishnava Ganapathy, depicted with a youthful Sree Krishna seated upon the lap of Lord Ganesha. This remarkable and potent blend of Vaishnava essence within the Ganesha idol stands as the pinnacle of the devoted penance undertaken by the esteemed chief priest of the temple, Brahmasree Bhagavathahamsam Malliyoor Sankaran Nampoothiri.
Currently, thousands of devotees gather at the feet of Vaishnava Ganapathy at Malliyoor, seeking eternal liberation from the shackles of Karma and relief from the tribulations of Kaliyuga. The deity is represented as Beeja Ganapathy, characterized by a trunk that twists to the right (valampiri) and bears a lime at its tip. The deity's hands are depicted holding an axe, a rope, a horn, and a container for laddoos. The principal festival, Vinayaka Chathurthi, occurs in Chingam (August-September), during which the Sahasrashtathika (1008) Ashtadravya Maha Ganapathy Homam and Gaja pooja are conducted.
An annual utsavam lasting eight days takes place in Meenam (March-April), with the arattu ceremony performed at the pond of the Iravimangalam Subrahmanya Swami temple. The birthday of Brahmasree Malliyoor Shankaran Namboothiri is celebrated in a grand manner during the month of Makaram (January-February). In previous years, his birthdays coincided with events such as the Ekona Satha Krathu Sapthaha Yajnam, Maha Samrajya Pattabhishekam, and Sreemad Bhagavatha Parishad.

കോട്ടയം ജില്ലയിലെ മാഞ്ഞൂർ പഞ്ചായത്തിലെ കുറുപ്പന്തറ പ്രദേശത്ത് സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന പ്രശസ്തമായ ക്ഷേത്രമാണ് മള്ളിയൂർ ശ്രീ മഹാഗണപതിക്ഷേത്രം. മഹാഗണപതി തൻറെ മടിയിൽ ഇരുന്ന് അമ്പാടിക്കണ്ണനെ താലോലിക്കുന്ന രൂപത്തിൽ ദിവ്യകാഴ്ച ഇവിടെ കാണാം. ഈ അനുഭവം മറ്റൊരിടത്തും ലഭ്യമാകില്ല.
ഗണപതിഭഗവാൻറെ അപൂർവ്വ സങ്കല്പമായ ബീജഗണപതി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠയാണ്. കിഴക്കോട്ട് ദർശനമായി നിലകൊള്ളുന്ന ഗണപതിഭഗവാന്റെ കൂടെ ശിവൻ, വിഷ്ണു, ശാസ്താവ്, അന്തിമഹാകാളൻ, ദുർഗ്ഗ, ഭദ്രകാളി, ബ്രഹ്മരക്ഷസ്സ്, യക്ഷി എന്നിവരാണ് ഉപദേവതകൾ. വിനായക ചതുർത്ഥി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന ആഘോഷമാണ്. ക്ഷേത്രഭരണസമിതി: മള്ളിയൂർ മനക്കാരുടേതാണ്.
വലതുവശത്ത് ഭഗവതി, ഇടതുവശത്ത് ശാസ്താവ്, വലത്തേമൂലയിൽ അന്തിമഹാകാളനും ഉപദേവന്മാരും സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു. നാലമ്പലത്തിന് പുറത്ത് നാഗങ്ങൾ പ്രത്യേക പീഠത്തിൽ ഉണ്ട്.
മൂക്കുറ്റി പുഷ്പാഞ്ജലി പൂജ നടത്തുന്നത് ഭാരതത്തിലെ ഏക ക്ഷേത്രമാണ്. രാളിന്റെ പേരിൽ 108 മുക്കുറ്റി വേരുകൾ ഉപയോഗിച്ച് തൃമധുരത്തിൽ മുക്കി ഗണപതി ഭഗവാനെ അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്യുന്നതാണ് മുക്കുറ്റി പുഷ്പാഞ്ജലി.
ഒരു ദിവസം അഞ്ചു മുക്കുറ്റി പുഷ്പാഞ്ജലി മാത്രമേ നടത്താൻ സാധിക്കൂ. മുക്കുറ്റി പുഷ്പാഞ്ജലി നേർന്നാൽ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങൾ സാധ്യമാകുമെന്ന് വിശ്വാസമുണ്ട്. വിനായക ചതുർത്ഥി ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന ആഘോഷ ദിനമാണ്. മണ്ഡല മകരവിളക്കിന്റെ സമയത്ത് നടക്കുന്ന ചിറപ്പ് ഉത്സവം അതിന്റെ പ്രത്യേകതയാണ്. ചിങ്ങമാസത്തിലെ വിനായക ചതുർത്ഥി ഉത്സവവും, മകരത്തിലെ മൂലം മുതൽ ഏഴുദിവസം നീണ്ടു നിൽക്കുന്ന പിറന്നാൾ ഉത്സവവും വളരെ പ്രധാനമാണ്.
ഗണപതിഹോമം പ്രധാനമായ വഴിപാടായി കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു, ഇത് മന:ശാന്തിയും കുടുംബ ഐശ്വര്യത്തിനും വേണ്ടി നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു. മംഗല്യഭാഗ്യത്തിനായി പ്രത്യേകമായി നടത്തുന്ന വഴിപാടാണ് പഴമാല. ഇരുപത്തിയെട്ട് കദളിപ്പഴങ്ങൾ ഉപയോഗിച്ച് നക്ഷത്രമാല ഒരുക്കി ഗണപതിക്ക് സമർപ്പിക്കുന്നത് ചൊവ്വാഴ്ചയോ വെള്ളിയാഴ്ചയോ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കി പന്ത്രണ്ട് ആഴ്ചകൾക്കുള്ളിൽ നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു. കൂടാതെ, ഉദയാസ്തമന പൂജ, ഒരുദിവസത്തെ പൂജ, ആയിരം കൂടം ജലാഭിഷേക, തടി നിവേദ്യം, പാൽപ്പായസവും ചതുർത്ഥിയൂട്ടും ഉൾപ്പെടെയുള്ള നിരവധി വഴിപാടുകൾ ഉണ്ട്.
