Thrikkayil Sree Mahadeva Temple is situated in Manarcadu, within the Kottayam district of Kerala. This sacred site is devoted to the worship of Lord Shiva.
The prevailing belief in this region is that the Shivling venerated in the temple was established by Arjuna, the third Pandava brother from the Mahabharata. The darshan of Manarcaud Thrikkayil Sree Mahadeva faces east.
The Upa Devatas honored in the temple include Nagaraja and Nagayakshi. Historically, the temple was constructed by King Dharmaraja of Travancore, who entrusted its administration to Manarcad Warrier, who held the Ezhuthassan title within the Travancore kingdom.

മണർകാട് തൃക്കയിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന പുരാതന ശിവക്ഷേത്രമാണ് കോട്ടയം ജില്ലയിൽ ഉള്ള മണർകാട് മഹാദേവ ക്ഷേത്രം. പ്രധാന പ്രതിഷ്ഠ ശ്രീ പരമേശ്വരനാണ്. മഹാഭാരതത്തിലെ പാണ്ഡവ സഹോദരന്മാരിൽ മൂന്നാമനായ അർജ്ജുനൻ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ ശിവലിംഗം പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചതായി ഇവിടെ പ്രചാരത്തിലുള്ള വിശ്വാസമുണ്ട്. കിഴക്കോട്ടഭിമുഖമായാണ് ശ്രീമഹാദേവന്റെ ദർശനം.
നാഗരാജാവും നാഗയക്ഷിയുമാണ് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ ഉപദേവതകൾ. ശിവരാത്രി, തിരുവാതിര, രാമായണമാസാചരണം എന്നിവയാണ് പ്രധാന ആഘോഷങ്ങൾ. ചരിത്രപ്രകാരം, തിരുവിതാംകൂർ രാജാവായ ധർമ്മരാജൻ ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ നിർമ്മാണം നടത്തിയത്. തിരുവിതാംകൂർ രാജ്യത്തിലെ എഴുത്തച്ഛൻ പട്ടം അലങ്കരിച്ച മണർകാട് വാര്യർക്ക് രാജാവ് ഭരണത്തിന്റെ ചുമതല കൈമാറിയിരുന്നു.
