Manchadikara Sri Raja Rajeshwari Devi Temple known as Rajarajeswarakshethram is located in Manjadikkara, within the Changanassery region of Kottayam district.
Several years ago, the temple was generously donated to the Akhila Bharath Ayyappa Seva Sangham by Manjadikara Kunnathidassery Man Brahmasree Narayanan Namboothiri. At that time, the installation of Bhadrakali was performed at the temple. Subsequently, through restoration efforts, the original deity was replaced, and a new installation was conducted under the concept of Rajarajeshwari.
The reinstallation was carried out by Puthumana Namboothiri. The principal deity at Manjadikkara today is Rajarajeswari. In a manner reminiscent of ancient temple practices, the installation has been conducted within the quadrangular shrine facing north. The goddess is seated on a lotus pedestal, adorned with a crescent moon on her head, symbolizing her connection to both Vaishnavism and Shaivism. The rituals for the three times of worship have been meticulously established by the chief priest from the Namboodiri family of Puthumanayil in Alappuzha.
The expansive four-part temple complex, featuring a two-story facade and a beautifully constructed hall, is truly remarkable. The construction of the shrine, temple complex, main mandapam, and hall has been executed with modern architectural expertise, while maintaining the essence of Kerala's traditional aesthetics. Adjacent to the temple complex, a large Blikkalpura has also been constructed to the north.
മഞ്ചാടിക്കര ശ്രീ രാജ രാജേശ്വരി ദേവീ ക്ഷേത്രം
മഞ്ചാടിക്കരക്കാവിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന പുരാതന ദേവീക്ഷേത്രം രാജരാജേശ്വരിക്ഷേത്രമാണ്, ഇത് കോട്ടയം ജില്ലയിലെ ചങ്ങനാശ്ശേരിയിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു. വാഴപ്പള്ളി തെക്കുംഭാഗത്തുള്ള ഭദ്രകാളീക്ഷേത്രം പിന്നീട് പുനഃപ്രതിഷ്ഠ ചെയ്ത് രാജരാജേശ്വരീക്ഷേത്രമായി മാറ്റിയതാണ്. വർഷങ്ങൾക്കു മുമ്പ്, മഞ്ചാടിക്കര കുന്നത്തിടശ്ശേരി മന ബ്രഹ്മശ്രീ നാരായണൻ നമ്പൂതിരി ഈ ദേവീക്ഷേത്രം അഖിലഭാരത് അയ്യപ്പസേവാസംഘത്തിലേക്ക് ഇഷ്ടദാനമായി നൽകിയിരുന്നു.
ആ സമയത്ത് കാവിൽ ഭദ്രകാളീ പ്രതിഷ്ഠയായിരുന്നു.
തുടർന്ന് നടന്ന പുനരുദ്ധാരണ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളിലൂടെ പഴയ ദേവി പ്രതിഷ്ഠ മാറ്റി രാജരാജേശ്വരി സങ്കല്പത്തിൽ പുനഃപ്രതിഷ്ഠ നടത്തുകയുണ്ടായി. ഈ പുനഃപ്രതിഷ്ഠയുടെ നേതൃത്വം പുതുമന നമ്പൂതിരിയായിരുന്നു. വടക്കോട്ട് ദർശനമായാണ് ചതുര ശ്രീകോവിലിന്റെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠ നടത്തിയത്, പഴയക്ഷേത്ര ദർശനത്തിന്റെ ശൈലിയിൽ. ദേവി ഇവിടെ ശംഖ്-ചക്ര ധാരിയായി (വൈഷ്ണവാംശം) തലയിൽ ചന്ദ്രക്കലചൂടി (ശൈവാംശം) ധരിച്ച് പത്മപീഠത്തിൽ ആസനസ്ഥയാണ്.
തൃകാലപൂജാവിധികൾ നിശ്ചയിച്ച് പടിത്തരമാക്കിയത് തന്ത്രിമുഖ്യനായ അമ്പലപ്പുഴ പുതുമനയില്ലയിലെ നമ്പൂതിരിയാണ്. വിസ്താരമേറിയ നാലമ്പലവും, ഇരുനില മുഖപ്പോടുകൂടിയ തിടപ്പള്ളിയും മനോഹരമായി പണിതീർത്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. ആധുനിക നിർമ്മാണ വൈദഗ്ദ്ധ്യത്തിൽ കേരളത്തിന്റെ സവിശേഷതയെ കുറയാതെ പണിതീർത്തവയാണ് ശ്രീകോവിലും, നാലമ്പലവും, മുഖമണ്ഡപവും, തിടപ്പള്ളിയും. നാലമ്പലത്തോട് ചേർന്ന് വടക്കുവശത്ത് വലിയ ബലിക്കൽപുരയും പണിതീർത്തിട്ടുണ്ട്.
മണ്ഡലക്കാലത്ത് കളമെഴുത്തും പാട്ടും നടത്തുന്നത് നാലമ്പലത്തിലെ കിഴക്കേ അമ്പലവട്ടത്തിലാണ്. പഴയ പാട്ടുപുര ഇന്നും നിലനിൽക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ കളമെഴുത്തും പാട്ടും നാലമ്പലത്തിനുള്ളിൽ തന്നെ നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു. നാലമ്പലത്തിനു പുറത്ത് കന്നിമൂലയിൽ ഗണപതിയെ, വടക്ക്-പടിഞ്ഞാറേ മൂലയിൽ ശാസ്താവിനെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. കിഴക്കു വടക്കു മൂലയിലായി നാഗ പ്രതിഷ്ഠകളും നടത്തപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്.
