Maniyassery Vaishnava Gandharva Swami Temple is situated in Maravanthuruthu within Vaikom Taluk, where the renowned Vaikkathappan presides. This historic temple can be found approximately 1 kilometer to the east of the Vaikom Chembu Toll Junction.
Maniyassery Vaishnava Gandharva Swami Temple is also adorned with idols of Lord Ganesha, Lord Ayyappan, Goddess Tripura Sundari and Goddess Vellam Bhagwati. The temple premises provide the devotees with an atmosphere of divine power, including the deities of the serpent deities Nagaraja, Nagayakshi Amma, Maninagam, the five-headed Maninagam, Kuzhi Nagam, Paranagam and Karinagayakshiamma.
The temple features idols of Lord Ganesha, Lord Ayyappan, Goddess Tripura Sundari, and Goddess Vellam Bhagwati. The surroundings of the temple create an ambiance of divine energy, encompassing the serpent deities such as Nagaraja, Nagayakshi Amma, Maninagam, the five-headed Maninagam, Kuzhi Nagam, Paranagam, and Karinagayakshiamma. Gandharvan songs and serpentine melodies are presented annually in alignment with the established rituals. Furthermore, customary offerings, including serpent sacrifices, turmeric anointing, and a hundred milk offerings, are consistently made to the serpents.
Each year, Rohini Day in May is commemorated as a Dedication Day at the temple. Each year, during the annual pooja, Swami is ceremonially anointed with kalabha, while the sub-deities receive an anointing with kalasam. Furthermore, there is a yearly Pongala dedication to the Goddess. Prasadaoottu is conducted at the temple monthly on Rohini Day as a gesture of offering to the devotees. On one day of the annual pooja, a thalapoli from the surrounding land is brought to the temple, performed by the local community as a unique offering.
The temple is devoted to the Bhagavad Gita, Akhanda Nama Japam, and the recitation of the Ramayana during the month of Karkitaka. It also hosts Ganapati Homa, Bhagavathi Seva, Vinayaka Chaturthi, and Mahaganapati Homa. Additionally, special poojas are conducted in the virgin month, along with the recitation of the Devi Bhagavata. During the monsoon season, there are specific poojas for Ayyappa, and special pooja for Swami takes place on Thursdays.

കേരളത്തിലെ അത്യന്താപൂർവ്വമായ ഗന്ധർവ്വ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട ഒരു ക്ഷേത്രമാണ് മണിയശ്ശേരി ശ്രീ വൈഷ്ണവ ഗന്ധർവ്വ സ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രം. വൈഷ്ണവ വംശജനായ ഗന്ധർവ്വൻ പ്രധാന ദേവനായി ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ആരാധിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. പ്രസിദ്ധമായ വൈക്കത്തപ്പൻ വാണരുളുന്ന വൈക്കം താലൂക്കിൽ മറവൻ തുരുത്തിയിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം, വൈക്കത്ത് ചെമ്പ് ടോൾ ജംഗ്ഷനിൽ നിന്ന് ഏകദേശം ഒരു കിലോമീറ്റർ കിഴക്കോട്ട് പോകുമ്പോൾ കാണാം.
തിരുവിതാംകൂറിലെ വിശാഖം തിരുനാൾ മഹാരാജാവിന്റെ കാലത്ത് പ്രശസ്തമായിരുന്ന ശ്രീ നീലകണ്ഠപ്പിള്ളയുടെ തറവാടാണ് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം. പഴയകാലത്ത് ആ തറവാടിന്റെ അറക്കകത്ത് ആരാധന നടത്തിയ സ്വാമിയെയും രണ്ട് അമ്മമാരെയും പിന്നീട് ക്ഷേത്രം നിർമ്മിച്ച് പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചു. ഇന്നത്തെ അവസ്ഥയിൽ, ആ ക്ഷേത്രം ഒരു മഹാ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ കെട്ടിലും മട്ടിലും ഉയർന്ന നിലയിൽ, സ്വാമി ആ ദേശദേവനായി ലക്ഷ്മീ നാരായണ സങ്കല്പത്തിൽ നിലകൊള്ളുന്നു. ശ്രീ വൈഷ്ണവ ഗന്ധർവ സ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന ദേവനാണ്.
ഇവിടെ ലക്ഷ്മീ നാരായണ പൂജ, വിവാഹ തടസ്സങ്ങൾ നീക്കാൻ ഭക്തജനങ്ങൾ നടത്തുന്ന പ്രധാന വഴിപാടാണ്. ഗണപതി, അയ്യപ്പൻ, ത്രിപുര സുന്ദരി ദേവി, വെള്ളം ഭഗവതി എന്നിവരുടെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠകൾ ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ മഹത്വം വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. നാഗരാജാവ്, നാഗയക്ഷി അമ്മ, മണിനാഗം, അഞ്ചു തല മണിനാഗം, കുഴി നാഗം, പറനാഗം, കരിനാഗയക്ഷിയമ്മ എന്നിവരുടെ സർപ്പ ദേവങ്ങളുടെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠകൾ ഉൾപ്പെടെ, ക്ഷേത്ര പരിസരം ദൈവീക ശക്തിയുടെ ഒരു ആകർഷകമായ അന്തരീക്ഷം ഭക്തജനങ്ങൾക്ക് നൽകുന്നു.
ഗന്ധർവൻ പാട്ടും, സർപ്പക്കളമെഴുത്ത് പാട്ടും അനുഷ്ഠാനങ്ങൾക്ക് അനുസരിച്ച് മുടങ്ങാതെ ആണ്ടു തോറും ഇവിടെ നടത്തി പോരുന്നു. കൂടാതെ സർപ്പബലി, മഞ്ഞൾ അഭിഷേകം, നൂറും പാലും മുതലായ വഴിപാടുകളും മുറ തെറ്റാതെ സർപ്പങ്ങൾക്കായി നടത്തുന്നുണ്ട്. മേട മാസത്തിലെ രോഹിണി നാളിലാണ് എല്ലാ വർഷവും ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ പ്രതിഷ്ഠാ ദിനമായി ആചരിക്കുന്നത്. എല്ലാ വർഷവും വാർഷിക പൂജക്ക് സ്വാമിക്ക് കളഭാഭിഷേകവും, ഉപ ദേവകൾക്ക് കലശാഭിഷേകവും നടത്തി പോരുന്നു. കൂടാതെ ദേവിമാർക്ക് വർഷം തോറും പൊങ്കാല സമർപണവും ഉണ്ട്.
എല്ലാ മാസവും രോഹിണി നാളിൽ പ്രസാദ ഊട്ട് ഭക്തജനങ്ങളുടെ വഴിപാടായി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ നടത്തി പോരുന്നു. വാർഷിക പൂജാ ദിവസങ്ങളിൽ ഒരു ദിവസം ആ ദേശത്തു നിന്നും ഒരു താലപ്പൊലി ഈ ക്ഷേത്ര സന്നിധിയിൽ എത്തുന്നു. ലക്ഷാർച്ചന, പൂമൂടൽ, ഗണപതിക്ക് അപ്പം മൂടൽ, ലക്ഷ്മീ നാരയണ പൂജ, സർപ്പബലി, ഉദയാസ്തമന പൂജ എന്നിവ ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന വഴിപാടുകളാണ്.
സത്സംഗം, ഈശ്വര കഥാ ശ്രവണം, നാമ ജപം, ക്ഷേത്രാരാധന എന്നിവ ഭക്തിയുടെ വളർച്ചയ്ക്ക് സഹായകമാണ്. അതിനാൽ, ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ഭാഗവത സപ്താഹം, അഖണ്ട നാമജപം, കർക്കിടക മാസത്തിൽ രാമയണം വായന, ഗണപതി ഹോമം, ഭഗവതി സേവ, വിനായക ചതുർത്ഥി, മഹാഗണപതി ഹോമം, കന്നി മാസത്തിൽ പൂജവയ്പ്, ദേവീ ഭാഗവത പാരായണം, മണ്ഡലക്കാലത്ത് അയ്യപ്പനു പ്രത്യേക പൂജകൾ, വ്യാഴാഴ്ച തോറും സ്വാമിക്ക് പ്രത്യേകമായ തുളസി മാല, ഗന്ധർവ പുഷ്പാഞ്ജലി, സർവൈശ്വര്യ പൂജ എന്നിവ നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു.
