Sree Moozhikulangara Bhagavathy Temple, located near Neendur in Kottayam district, is an ancient and revered shrine dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathy.
Sree Moozhikulangara Bhagavathy Temple is closely associated with the famous saying, "Arapattaramma for a thousand Bhadras," symbolizing the immense power of the presiding deity. This concept is referred to as Moozhikulangara Muzhupattaramma.
One of the most significant offerings at the temple is Mudiyettu, a grand ritual dedicated to Pattayamma.
This temple is unique in Kerala as it hosts Mudiyettu over an extended period, making it the most supreme Mudiyettu Vazhipadu in the state. The ritual is also a major highlight of the temple’s Meenapura festival.
Another distinctive offering at the temple is 'Kottum Chiriyum', which is believed to help devotees recover lost valuables.
Many devotees testify to the effectiveness of this ritual when performed with devotion to Moozhikulangara Amma.
Additionally, Guruthi Pooja is conducted as an important offering to Pattayamma every Tuesday and Friday, drawing numerous devotees seeking divine blessings and protection.
ശ്രീ മൂഴിക്കുളങ്ങര ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം
കോട്ടയം ജില്ലയിലെ നീണ്ടുരിനടുത്ത് സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന പുരാതന ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രമാണ് ശ്രീ മൂഴിക്കുളങ്ങര ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം. കേരളത്തിൽ ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതൽ മുടിയേറ്റ് വഴിപാടായി നടത്തിവരുന്ന ഏക ക്ഷേത്രമായി ഇത് വിശേഷിപ്പിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. നീണ്ടുരിൽ നിന്ന് ഏകദേശം 1.5 കിലോമീറ്റർ ദൂരത്തിലാണ് ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്.
മൂഴിക്കുളങ്ങര ഗ്രാമത്തിന്റെ സർവ ഐശ്വര്യമാണ് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം.
"ആയിരം ഭദ്രക്ക് അരപട്ടായ്യമ്മ" എന്ന പഴമൊഴിയോട് അനുബന്ധിച്ച്, മൂഴിക്കുളങ്ങര മുഴുപട്ടായ്യമ്മ എന്ന സങ്കൽപ്പത്തിൽ ഈ ദേവി ആരാധിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. പട്ടായ്യമ്മയ്ക്ക് ഏറ്റവും മഹത്തായ വഴിപാടാണ് മുടിയേറ്റ്. വളരെ ദീർഘദിനങ്ങളിലായി ഈ വഴിപാട് നടത്തപ്പെടുന്ന മറ്റൊരു ക്ഷേത്രവും കേരളത്തിൽ ഇല്ല.
അതുകൊണ്ടുതന്നെ, മൂഴിക്കുളങ്ങരയിലെ മുടിയേറ്റു മഹോത്സവം കേരളത്തിലെ മുടിയേറ്റു മാമാങ്കമായി കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. പ്രശസ്തമായ മീനപൂര മഹോത്സവത്തോടൊപ്പം മുടിയേറ്റ് വഴിപാടും ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു.
മറ്റൊരു വ്യത്യസ്തമായ വഴിപാട് 'കൊട്ടും ചിരിയും' എന്നതാണ്. വിലപിടിച്ച എന്തെങ്കിലും വസ്തു നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടാൽ, ഈ വഴിപാട് ഭഗവതിക്ക് (മൂഴിക്കുളങ്ങര അമ്മ) സമർപ്പിച്ചാൽ, നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ട വസ്തു തിരിച്ചു കിട്ടുമെന്ന് അനുഭവസ്ഥർ സാക്ഷ്യപെടുത്തുന്നു.
ദേവിയുടെ പ്രഭാവം മുൻനിർത്തി പ്രത്യേക ഗുരുതി വഴിപാട് എല്ലാ ചൊവ്വ, വെള്ളി ദിവസങ്ങളിൽ പട്ടായ്യമ്മക്ക് സമർപ്പിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.
