Nadackal Sree Bhagavathy Temple | Nadackal Bhadrakali Temple Erattupetta Poonjar Kottayam

The shrine is devoted to Goddess Bhadrakali. The temple hosts its annual festival during the Malayalam month of Meena, aligning with the Meena Bharani day. The deity worshipped at this site is represented by the Kannadi Bimbam. The sanctum sanctorum's four walls feature lamps intricately carved into the rock, a distinctive characteristic of temples associated with the Poonjar Royal Family.

In 2015, a shrine dedicated to Ayyappa was established within the temple grounds to accommodate a murti that had been donated to the Bhadrakali Temple by a family forty years earlier. The historical account indicates that the temple was initially owned by a Brahmin family, which, under ambiguous circumstances, transferred its ownership to the Poonjar Royal Family. The temple hosts the celebrations of the Meena Bharani and Pathamudayam festivals. Additionally, it features the pratishtha of Nagaraja and Nagayakshi.

ഈരാറ്റുപേട്ടയിൽ നിന്നും രണ്ട് കിലോമീറ്റർ അകലെയാണ് കോട്ടയം ജില്ലയിലെ പൂഞ്ഞാർ രാജകുടുംബത്തിന്റെ (കോയിക്കൽ ദേവസ്വം) പ്രശസ്തമായ നടക്കൽ ശ്രീ ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം. ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ ചരിത്രം വളരെ ദുരൂഹമാണ്, കൂടാതെ ഇതുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട നിരവധി ഐതിഹ്യങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ട്. ഒരു ബ്രാഹ്മണ കുടുംബത്തിന്റെ കീഴിൽ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിരുന്ന ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം, പിന്നീട് അനിശ്ചിത സാഹചര്യങ്ങളിൽ പൂഞ്ഞാർ രാജകുടുംബത്തിന് കൈമാറി.

ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ഭദ്രകാളിയുടെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠയുണ്ട്, കൂടാതെ 'കണ്ണാടി ബിംബം' എന്ന പേരിൽ അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന വിഗ്രഹം കണ്ണാടിയുടെ ആകൃതിയോട് സാമ്യമുള്ളതാണ്. ശ്രീകോവിലിന്റെ നാല് ചുവരുകളിലും പാറയിൽ കൊത്തിയ കൽവിളക്കുകൾ കാണപ്പെടുന്നു, ഇത് പൂഞ്ഞാർ രാജകുടുംബത്തിലെ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളുടെ മുഖമുദ്രയായി കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.

നാല് പതിറ്റാണ്ടുകൾക്ക് മുമ്പ് ഭദ്രകാളി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന് ഒരു കുടുംബം നൽകിയ വിഗ്രഹം സ്ഥാപിക്കാൻ 2015-ൽ ക്ഷേത്രപരിസരത്ത് അയ്യപ്പന്റെ ഒരു ശ്രീകോവിൽ നിർമ്മിക്കപ്പെട്ടു. മീനഭരണി, പത്താം ഉദയം തുടങ്ങിയ ഉത്സവങ്ങൾ ഇവിടെ വലിയ ആഘോഷത്തോടെ നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു.
