Nagampadam Shree Mahadevar Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, situated in the central area of Kottayam, specifically in Nagampadam.
The principal deity of the temple is Lord Mahadevan. This temple is managed by the SNDP. Nagampadam Shree Mahadevar Temple, a Shiva temple, is situated in Nagampadam, at the center of Kottayam city within the Kottayam district.
In the Malayalam year 1103 (AD 1927), Sree Narayana Guru granted permission for the Sivagiri pilgrimage to this temple. On January 19, 1928, Shri Narayanaguru Vallabhassery Govindan Vaidyar, along with TK Kitten Writer and others, received authorization to undertake a pilgrimage to Sivagiri.
Every year, on January 1, followers and disciples of Sree Narayana Guru embark on a pilgrimage to Sivagiri. The inaugural pilgrimage occurred on January 1, 1933, with a total of five participants. The temple celebrates significant festivals such as Thiruvatira, Thiruvutsavam, and Shivratri.
നാഗമ്പടം ശ്രീ മഹാദേവർ ക്ഷേത്രം
കേരളത്തിലെ പ്രശസ്തമായ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങൾ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന പ്രദേശമാണ് കോട്ടയം. അക്ഷര നഗരത്തിന്റെ അതിരുകൾക്കുള്ളിൽ, വിശ്വാസങ്ങളും ആചാരങ്ങളും നിറഞ്ഞ ഒരു സ്ഥലമാണ് ഇത്. അതിനാൽ, അപൂർവ്വമായ ആചാരങ്ങളും അനുഷ്ഠാനങ്ങളും ഉൾക്കൊള്ളുന്ന നിരവധി ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങൾ ഇവിടെ കാണപ്പെടുന്നു.
കോട്ടയം ജില്ലയിലെ നഗരത്തിന്റെ കേന്ദ്രത്തിൽ, നാഗമ്പടത്ത് സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ശിവക്ഷേത്രമാണ് നാഗമ്പടം ശ്രീ മഹാദേവർ ക്ഷേത്രം. കേരളത്തിന്റെ ചരിത്രത്തിൽ ഒരു പ്രധാന സ്ഥാനം കൈവശം വഹിക്കുന്ന ക്ഷേത്രമാണ് നാഗമ്പടം ശിവക്ഷേത്രം. മലയാള വർഷം 1103-ൽ (AD 1927) ശ്രീനാരായണ ഗുരു ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ശിവഗിരി തീർത്ഥാടനത്തിന് അനുമതി നൽകിയിരുന്നു.
1928 ജനുവരി 19-ന്, ശ്രീ നാരായണഗുരു വല്ലഭശ്ശേരി ഗോവിന്ദൻ വൈദ്യർ, ടി.കെ. കിട്ടൻ റൈട്ടർ എന്നിവർക്കായി ശിവഗിരിയിലേക്ക് തീർത്ഥാടനം നടത്താനുള്ള അനുമതി നൽകി. ശ്രീ നാരായണ ഗുരുവിന്റെ അനുയായികളും ശിഷ്യന്മാരും ഓരോ വർഷവും ജനുവരി ഒന്നിന് ശിവഗിരിയിലേക്ക് തീർത്ഥാടനം നടത്താറുണ്ട്.
1933 ജനുവരി 1-ന് ആദ്യത്തെ തീർത്ഥാടനം നടന്നപ്പോൾ, ആകെ അഞ്ചുപേരാണ് പങ്കെടുത്തത്. ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന പ്രതിഷ്ഠ മഹാദേവനാണ്. എസ് എൻ ഡി പി യുടെ കീഴിലാണ് ക്ഷേത്രം പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നത്. പ്രധാന ഉത്സവങ്ങൾ: തിരുവാതിര, തിരുവുത്സവം, ശിവരാത്രി.
