Polassery Devi Temple is a revered temple located in Vaikom, Kottayam, along the banks of the Kollam-Kottappuram waterway. The temple is famous for its divine presence of Goddess Durga and Goddess Bhadrakali.
Meenabharani Festival is the most significant celebration in this temple, commencing with the Kaalnattu ceremony. The unique aspect of the festival is the presence of Goddess Durga facing east and Goddess Bhadrakali facing north during the rituals.
A major attraction of this festival is the Kalamezhuthu Pattu, where a beautiful image of Bhadrakali is drawn using five-colored powder inside a specially decorated pandal. The Kalamezhutthu begins at noon, and in the evening, the "Kalam" is opened to the public with elaborate decorations.
Following this, the Kalampooja, Thiri Uzhichil (sacred lamp waving), and Ethirellpu Kalampattu are performed with devotion.
Additionally, traditional Malakkalam ceremony and Swayamvara Parvati Pooja are conducted at the temple during this festival, attracting numerous devotees seeking divine blessings for auspicious life events, especially marriage.

കിഴക്ക് ദർശനമായി ദുർഗ്ഗാദേവിയും വടക്ക് ദർശനമായി ഭദ്രകാളിദേവിയും ഭക്തജനസഹസ്രങ്ങൾക്ക് അനുഗ്രഹവർഷം ചൊരിയുന്ന ഈ ക്ഷേത്രസന്നിധിയിൽ നടക്കുന്ന മീനഭരണി മഹോത്സവം വൈവിദ്ധ്യമാർന്ന കലാപരിപാടികൾ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തി ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നു.
പ്രത്യേകമായി അലങ്കരിച്ച പന്തലിൽ ആചാരവിധിപ്രകാരം ഭദ്രകാളിരൂപം പഞ്ചവർണ്ണപ്പൊടികളാൽ വരച്ച് ദേവീപ്രീതിക്ക് വേണ്ടി കളംപാട്ടും നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു, ഉച്ചപ്പാട്ടോടുകൂടി കളമെഴുത്ത് ആരംഭിച്ച് വൈകിട്ട് സർവ്വവിധ അലങ്കാരങ്ങളോടും കൂടി ജനങ്ങൾക്ക് കളം ദർശനത്തിന് തുറന്നുകൊടുക്കുന്നു, തുടർന്ന് രാത്രി ആചാരവിധിപ്രകാരമുള്ള കളംപൂജ, തിരി ഉഴിച്ചിൽ, എതിരേൽപ്പ് എന്നീ ചടങ്ങുകൾക്ക് ശേഷം കളംപാട്ട് ആരംഭിക്കുകയും പൂർത്തീകരിച്ച് കർപ്പൂരാരാധനയ്ക്ക് ശേഷം കളം മായ്ക്കൽ ചടങ്ങും പ്രസാദ വിതരണവും നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു.
