Poovapparambil Sree Bhuvaneshwari Temple is an ancient temple located 4.2 kilometers from Uzhavoor in the Kottayam district.
The main deity of this temple is Sree Bhuvaneshwari (Durga), who is the complete manifestation of Adi Parashakti.
Although the Goddess is worshipped as Bhuvaneshwari, the belief is that she exists in two forms. During the day, she can be seen in her peaceful form as Bhuvaneshwari, while in the Kodungallur Bhagavathi concept, she is worshipped in the fierce form of Sree Bhadrakali at Poovapparambil Temple.
