Thiruvanchoor Subramanya Swamy Temple is situated approximately 10 kilometers from Kottayam town, along the Ayarkunnam-Thiruvanchoor Road in the Kottayam district of Kerala.
The east-facing deity of Lord Subhramanya, sculpted from Anjana Shila, stands at an impressive height of nearly 6 feet. The sanctum sanctorum is designed in a circular shape. An annual festival lasting eight days at the Thiruvanchoor temple commences the day prior to Vishu.
Another significant celebration at the temple is Thaipooyam, which occurs in the month of Makara. Additionally, Skanda Sashti, observed in November, is an important ritual at this site. The Upa Devatas honored within the temple include Dakshinamurti Shiva, Ganapathy, Sastha, and Sri Krishna. This temple was established in the 15th century.
The temple serves as a temporary stop for pilgrims en route to the Sabarimala Temple. Devotees of Ayyappa traveling from Ettumanoor to Sabarimala typically pass through Pala and Ponkunnam towns. തിരുവഞ്ചൂർ ശ്രീ സുബ്രഹ്മണ്യസ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രം
കോട്ടയം ജില്ലയിൽ അയർക്കുന്നം-തിരുവഞ്ചൂർ റോഡിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന പ്രശസ്തമായ ക്ഷേത്രമാണ് തിരുവഞ്ചൂർ ശ്രീ സുബ്രഹ്മണ്യസ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രം. കോട്ടയം നഗരത്തിൽ നിന്ന് 10 കിലോമീറ്റർ, ഏറ്റുമാനൂരിൽ നിന്ന് ഏകദേശം 6 കിലോമീറ്റർ അകലെയാണ്. പതിനഞ്ചാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിൽ പണികഴിപ്പിച്ചുവെന്നു പറയപ്പെടുന്ന ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം, ദിവ്യമായ അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങൾ നൽകുന്ന സ്ഥലമായി അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു.
സുബ്രഹ്മണ്യസ്വാമി പ്രധാന പ്രതിഷ്ഠയാണ്. കിഴക്കോട്ട് ദർശനമുള്ള മുരുകന്റെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠ അഞ്ജനശിലയിൽ നിന്ന് കൊത്തിയെടുത്തതാണ്, ഏകദേശം 6 അടി ഉയരമുണ്ട്. ശ്രീകോവിൽ വൃത്താകൃതിയിലാണ് (വട്ട ശ്രീകോവിൽ). തിരുവഞ്ചൂർ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ 8 ദിവസത്തെ തിരുഉത്സവം വിഷുവിന് ഒരു ദിവസം മുമ്പാണ് ആരംഭിക്കുന്നത്.
മകരമാസത്തിലെ തൈപ്പൂയവും, നവംബർ മാസത്തിലെ സ്കന്ദ ഷഷ്ഠിയും ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന വിശേഷ ദിവസങ്ങളാണ്. ദക്ഷിണാമൂർത്തി, ശിവൻ, ഗണപതി, ശാസ്താവ്, ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണൻ എന്നിവരാണ് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ ഉപദേവതകൾ. ശബരിമലയിൽ ദർശനത്തിനായി എത്തുന്ന തീർഥാടകർക്ക് താത്കാലികമായി ഇടത്താവളമായി പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു.
ഏറ്റുമാനൂരിൽ നിന്ന് ശബരിമലയിലേക്ക് പോകുന്ന അയ്യപ്പഭക്തർ പാലാ, പൊൻകുന്നം ടൗൺ വഴി യാത്ര ചെയ്യുന്നു. ഭക്തർ തിരുവഞ്ചൂർ - മങ്കാട് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലൂടെ യാത്ര ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ സമയം ലാഭിക്കാൻ കഴിയും.
