T.V. Puram Saraswathi Temple is a renowned Swayambhu (self-manifested) Saraswathi temple located approximately one kilometer from Vaikom town in Kottayam district. The temple is managed by the Travancore Devaswom Board.
Goddess Saraswathi, the deity of wisdom and knowledge, is the presiding deity of this temple, making it particularly significant for students and artists. It is believed that dance, music, literature, craftsmanship, and learning are divine manifestations of the Goddess. Devotees consider intelligence, speech, and memory power as the blessings of Saraswathi.
According to the Devi Puranas, the Supreme Goddess (Adi Parashakti) has three primary manifestations: Maha Saraswathi, Maha Lakshmi, and Maha Kaali (Sri Parvati). Among the various forms of Saraswathi, Veena Pani Saraswathi is worshipped as the embodiment of sattvic (pure and serene) qualities.
Goddess holds the Vedas in one hand, a lotus symbolizing wisdom in another, and a veena (a musical instrument) in the remaining two hands. Clad in white garments, Saraswathi represents peace and purity. The Vidyarambham (initiation into learning) ceremony is one of the most important rituals conducted at this temple.

കോട്ടയം ജില്ലയിലെ വൈക്കം നഗരത്തിൽ നിന്ന് ഏകദേശം ഒരു കിലോമീറ്റർ അകലെയായി സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ഒരു പ്രസിദ്ധ സ്വയംഭൂ സരസ്വതി ക്ഷേത്രമാണ് ടിവി പുരം സരസ്വതി ക്ഷേത്രം. തിരുവിതാംകൂർ ദേവസ്വം ബോർഡിന്റെ കീഴിലാണ് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നത്.
വിദ്യാദേവിയായ ഭഗവതി സരസ്വതിയെ പ്രധാന പ്രതിഷ്ഠയായി ആരാധിക്കുന്ന ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾക്കും കലാകാരന്മാർക്കും പ്രത്യേകം മഹത്തരമാണ്.
നൃത്തം, സംഗീതം, സാഹിത്യം, കരകൗശലങ്ങൾ, അക്ഷരം എന്നിവ ദേവിയുടെ ദിവ്യസാന്നിധ്യങ്ങളായി കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. ബുദ്ധി, വാക്ക്, ഓർമ്മശക്തി എന്നിവ സരസ്വതിയുടെ അനുഗ്രഹമായി വിശ്വാസികൾ കരുതുന്നു. ദേവീപുരാണങ്ങൾ പ്രകാരം മഹാസരസ്വതി, മഹാലക്ഷ്മി, മഹാകാളി (ശ്രീ പാർവ്വതി) എന്നിവയാണ് ആദിപരാശക്തിയുടെ മൂന്നു മുഖ്യഭാവങ്ങൾ.
സരസ്വതിയുടെ നിരവധി രൂപങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടെങ്കിലും, വീണാപാണി സരസ്വതിയെ സാത്വിക ഗുണങ്ങളുടെ പ്രതീകമായി ആരാധിക്കുന്നു.
ഒരു കയ്യിൽ വേദങ്ങളും, മറ്റൊരു കയ്യിൽ അറിവിന്റെ അടയാളമായ താമരയും, ശേഷിക്കുന്ന രണ്ടു കൈകളിൽ സംഗീതത്തിന്റെ പ്രതീകമായ വീണയും ദേവി കൈവഹിക്കുന്നു. ശ്വേതവസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ച ദേവി സമാധാനത്തെയും പരിശുദ്ധിയെയും പ്രതിനിധീകരിക്കുന്നു. വിദ്യാരംഭം എന്ന പ്രധാന ചടങ്ങ് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ വളരെ ശ്രദ്ധാപൂർവ്വം ആചരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.
