Sree Ananthapuram Mahavishnu Temple is an ancient temple located at Anakkulam in Viyyur, Koyilandy, in Kozhikode district.
It is situated close to the renowned Pisharikkavu Temple. From Koyilandy, it takes approximately nine minutes to reach the Ananthapuram Mahavishnu Temple.
It is believed that there are around 12 temples in Kerala with the name "Ananthapuram Mahavishnu."
Ananthapuram Lake Temple in Kasaragod is one among them. The main deity here is Chaturbahu Mahavishnu (Mahavishnu with four arms). The pillars in the temple mandapam feature beautifully carved sculptures of the Dashavatara (ten incarnations of Vishnu). Renovation works of the temple are currently underway.
ശ്രീ അനന്തപുരം മഹാവിഷ്ണുക്ഷേത്രം
കോഴിക്കോട് ജില്ലയിലെ കൊയിലാണ്ടി വിയ്യൂരിലെ ആനക്കുളം പ്രദേശത്ത് സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന പുരാതന ക്ഷേത്രമാണ് ശ്രീ അനപ്പെട്ടിപ്പുറം മഹാവിഷ്ണു ക്ഷേത്രം. പ്രശസ്തമായ പിഷാരിക്കാവ് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിനടുത്തായാണ് ഈ മഹാവിഷ്ണു ക്ഷേത്രവും സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. കൊയിലാണ്ടിയിൽ നിന്നും ഏകദേശം ഒമ്പത് മിനിറ്റ് ദൂരത്തിലാണ് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം.
"അനപ്പെട്ടിപ്പുറം മഹാവിഷ്ണു" എന്ന നാമത്തിൽ കേരളത്തിൽ ഏകദേശം പതിനൊന്ന് മുതൽ പന്ത്രണ്ടോളം ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങൾ നിലനില്ക്കുന്നുവെന്ന് കരുതപ്പെടുന്നു. കാസർഗോഡിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന അനപ്പെട്ടിപ്പുറം തടാക ക്ഷേത്രം ഇവയിൽ ഒന്നാണ്. ഇവിടെ ചതുർബാഹു രൂപത്തിൽ മഹാവിഷ്ണുവാണ് പ്രധാന പ്രതിഷ്ഠ. ക്ഷേത്രമണ്ഡപത്തിലെ തൂണുകളിൽ അതിശയകരമായ ദശാവതാര ശില്പങ്ങൾ കാണാം. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പുനരുദ്ധാരണ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ നിലവിൽ പുരോഗമിക്കുകയാണ്.
