Arakkuparampu Sree Ardhanareeswara Temple, located in Perinthalmanna in the Malappuram district of Kerala, is a unique Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Ardhanareeswara — the divine embodiment of both Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi.
This sacred form symbolizes the harmonious union of masculine and feminine energies, representing balance and completeness in the divine.
One of the temple's most distinctive features is its Namaskara Mandapam, where devotees offer their prayers, and a unique circumambulatory path that is surrounded by water.
This water-encircled pathway creates a tranquil and spiritually uplifting environment for worship.
A major highlight of the temple’s festivities is the Dhanu Thiruvathira Mahotsavam, during which a special ritual offering known as Pattum Thaaliyum Samarppanam is performed. This ritual is believed to bless devotees with a harmonious married life, remove obstacles to marriage, and bring prosperity to family life. Worshippers participate in this offering with deep devotion, seeking divine grace for lasting happiness in their relationships.
Another sacred tradition at the temple is the 1008 Kudam Jalabhishekam, where water from 1008 pots (kudams) is offered in a ritual bath (abhishekam) to the deity. This grand ritual, conducted with immense reverence, symbolizes purification and invokes blessings and divine grace for the well-being of the devotees.

മലപ്പുറം ജില്ലയിൽ പെരിന്തൽമണ്ണ താലൂക്കിൽ അരക്കുപറമ്പ് ഗ്രാമത്തിലെ വെളിങ്ങോട് എന്ന പൗരാണികസാന്നിധ്യമുള്ള പ്രദേശത്താണ് ശ്രീ അർദ്ധനാരീശ്വര ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട പ്രത്യേകതകളിലൊന്നാണ് ശ്രീകോവിലും, നമസ്കാരമണ്ഡപവും, പ്രദക്ഷിണ വഴിയും എല്ലാം ജലത്തിനടിയിലാണുള്ളത് — ഇത് ക്ഷേത്രത്തെ അത്യന്തം വിശിഷ്ടമാകുന്നു.
ഇവിടുത്തെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠ സ്വയംഭൂയായാണ് അംഗീകരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നത്. രണ്ടുശിലകൾ ചേർന്ന് രൂപപ്പെട്ട ഒറ്റശില മൂർത്തി പൂർണമായും ജലത്തിൽ ആവിഷ്‌ക്കരിക്കപ്പെട്ടതായുള്ളത് അത്യപൂർവമായ ദർശനമാണ്. ജലത്തിൽവസിക്കുന്നതിനാൽ, എല്ലാ നിവേദ്യങ്ങളും പൂജകളും തെക്കൻ ദിക്കിലൂടെ മാത്രമാണ് നടത്തുന്നത്. മഹാശിവരാത്രി ദിനത്തിൽ ജലം കുറച്ച് അർദ്ധരാത്രി ഭക്തിപൂർവ്വം അഭിഷേകം നടത്തുന്നു. അന്നും നല്ല വെളിച്ചം ലഭ്യമായ സമയങ്ങളിലും ദർശനം ജലത്തിനുള്ളിലൂടെ മാത്രമാണ് സാധ്യമാകുന്നത്.
അരക്കുപറമ്പ് ശ്രീ അർദ്ധനാരീശ്വര ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന ഉത്സവങ്ങളിൽ മഹാശിവരാത്രിയും, മിഥുനമാസത്തിലെ മകം നാളിൽ നടക്കുന്ന പ്രതിഷ്ഠാദിന ഉത്സവവും, ധനുമാസത്തിലെ മകം നാളിൽ നടക്കുന്ന തൃക്കൊടിയേട്ടും, അതിനു ശേഷമുള്ള അഞ്ചാം നാളിൽ നടക്കുന്ന തിരുആറാട്ട് ഉത്സവവും ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നു. മിഥുനമാസത്തിലെ മകം നാളിൽ നടക്കുന്ന ഉത്സവത്തോടനുബന്ധിച്ച് ഉപദേവതകളായ തിരുവളയനാട് ഭഗവതിക്കും തിരുമാന്ധാംകുന്നിലമ്മയ്ക്കുമായി മൂന്ന് ദിവസം കളംപാട്ട് നടപ്പിലാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.
അതേ ദിവസം തന്നെ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ 1008 കുടം ജലാഭിഷേകവും.ഭക്തർക്ക് നേരിട്ട് ജലാഭിഷേക ജലം അർപ്പിക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്നത് ഈ ചടങ്ങിന്റെ ഒരു പ്രത്യേകതയാണ്. വിവാഹതടസ്സങ്ങൾ നീക്കാനും, കുടുംബ സമൃദ്ധിയും ദാമ്പത്യ സൗഖ്യവും പ്രാപിക്കാനുമായി ഭക്തർ ഉമാമഹേശ്വര പൂജ നിർവഹിക്കുന്നത്.
