Anikkode Anchumurthy Temple Kottayi Palakkad

The temple is uniquely positioned along the banks of the Nila River (Bharathapuzha), which originates at the base of the Swayambhu Shivalingam in the Trimurti Hills of Tamil Nadu. The river flows in a crescent shape from east to north, a formation believed to enhance the spiritual energy and vitality of the deities enshrined here.

The temple is dedicated to five deities of equal significance—Ganapati, Shiva, Parvati, Mahavishnu, and Shasta. This harmonious presence of five principal deities gives the temple its name: "Anchumurthy Temple," meaning "Temple of Five Deities."There is no other temple quite like the Anikodu Anchumurthy Temple, where five deities—Shri Ganapati, Shiva, Parvati, Mahavishnu, and Shasta—are enshrined in separate sanctums, each of distinct size and form, yet all equally revered.

These deities were enshrined by noble and divine hands thousands of years ago, making this temple unique in its spiritual and architectural design. The largest of the five sanctums is dedicated to Mahaganapati, depicted in a right-handed form. This sanctum is two-storied, with darshan offered from the west. Directly in front are the shrines of Lord Paramasiva in the form of a Banalinga, and Goddess Parvati Devi, each housed in individual sanctums and gazing lovingly upon their divine son, Ganapati.

To the side of Ganapati, Lord Shasta, adorned with a jata-mudi (matted hair crown) and holding an Amrita stone, is also enshrined. Mahavishnu, in the form of Sri Krishna revealing his Vishwaroopa (universal form) to his parents immediately after birth, also reigns in his sanctum. All five sanctums are square in shape, symbolizing balance and equality. The temple suffered severe destruction during Tipu Sultan’s invasion and remained in neglect for many years. However, in July 2008, the temple was revived and has since been on a path of restoration and spiritual growth. It now draws devotees from across Kerala as well as neighboring states like Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

The temple is steadily moving toward being recognized as a Mahakshetra (great temple). The temple opens at 5 a.m. with Nirmalya Darshan and Abhishekam, followed by morning and afternoon pujas before closing at 11 a.m. It reopens at 5 p.m., and Deeparadhana is performed at sunset, with the temple finally closing at 8 p.m. after the rendition of Harivarasanam. Tamil Brahmins serve as the priests of the temple. Devotees offer Ottayappam, Modakam, Ganapati Homam, Dhara, Bhasmabhishekam, Koovamala, Pradosh Pooja, and Pinvilakku to Lord Ganesha; Dhara and Pradosham-related offerings to Lord Shiva; Kumkumarchana, Pattum Thali Charthal, and Swayamvara Archana to Goddess Parvati; butter, palpayasam, kadali banana, and tulsi garlands to Lord Vishnu; and neerajana and aravana payasam to Lord Shastha, who is also revered as a divine physician. Performing Bali Tharpanam at this sacred site—blessed by the presence of all five deities—is considered especially auspicious.

ആനിക്കോട് അഞ്ചുമൂർത്തി ക്ഷേത്രം

പാലക്കാട് ജില്ലയിലെ കോട്ടായിക്കടുത്ത് മാത്തൂർ ഗ്രാമപഞ്ചായത്തിനുള്ളിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ആനിക്കോട് അഞ്ചുമൂർത്തി ക്ഷേത്രം ഒരു പ്രസിദ്ധമായ ക്ഷേത്രസ്ഥലമാണ്. തമിഴ്‌നാട്ടിലെ ത്രിമൂർത്തിമലയിലെ സ്വയംഭൂ ശിവലിംഗത്തിന്റെ പാദത്തിൽ നിന്ന് ഉല്പത്തിയായ നിളാനദി (ഭാരതപ്പുഴ) ഈ ക്ഷേത്രപ്രദേശത്ത് എത്തിയപ്പോൾ കിഴക്കുനിന്ന് വടക്കോട്ടായി ചന്ദ്രക്കല ആകൃതിയിൽ ഒഴുകുന്നു. ഇതുവഴി ഇവിടെ വാസം ചെയ്യുന്ന ദേവതകൾക്ക് വ്യത്യസ്തമായ ചൈതന്യം ലഭിക്കുന്നതായി വിശ്വാസമുണ്ട്. ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ഗണപതി, ശിവൻ, പാർവതി, മഹാവിഷ്ണു, ശാസ്താവ് എന്നിവർ തുല്യപ്രാധാന്യത്തോടെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. അതിനാലാണ് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം “അഞ്ചുമൂർത്തി ക്ഷേത്രം” എന്ന പേരിൽ അറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്.

ആയിരക്കണക്കിന് വർഷങ്ങൾക്ക് മുൻപെ ഏതോ മഹാത്മാവിന്റെ കരങ്ങളാൽ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിക്കപ്പെട്ട ശ്രീ ഗണപതി, ശിവൻ, പാർവ്വതി, മഹാവിഷ്ണു, ശാസ്താവ് എന്നിവരെ വ്യത്യസ്ത ഭാവങ്ങളിലായി, തുല്യപ്രാധാന്യത്തോടെ, വേറേ വേറേ ശ്രീകോവിലുകളിൽ കിരീടമായി വാഴുന്ന മറ്റൊരു ക്ഷേത്രം കേരളത്തിൽ ഇല്ല. അഞ്ച് പ്രതിഷ്ഠകളും വ്യത്യസ്ത വലിപ്പത്തിലും രൂപത്തിലും ഉള്ള ശ്രീകോവിലുകളിലാണ് സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. ഏറ്റവും വലിയ ശ്രീകോവിലിലുണ്ട് വലമ്പിരിയായ മഹാഗണപതിഭഗവാൻ – രണ്ടു നിലകളുള്ള ഈ ശ്രീകോവിലിന് പടിഞ്ഞാറ് ദർശനമാണ്. അതിന് മുന്നിൽ, മകനെ നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ട്, ബാണലിംഗസ്വരൂപിയായ പരമശിവനും ശ്രീ പാർവ്വതീദേവിയും തന്ത്രാനുസൃതമായി വ്യത്യസ്ത ശ്രീകോവിലുകളിൽ വാഴുന്നു.

ഗണപതിയുടെ സമീപത്ത് ജടാമകുടം ധരിച്ചും അമൃതകലശം കൈവശം വച്ചും പ്രത്യക്ഷമാകുന്ന ശാസ്താവും, പിറന്ന ഉടനെ മാതാപിതാക്കൾക്ക് വിശ്വരൂപം കാണിച്ചുകൊടുത്ത ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണഭാവത്തിൽ മഹാവിഷ്ണുവും പ്രതിഷ്ഠിതരാണ്. അഞ്ച് ശ്രീകോവിലുകളും ചതുരാകൃതിയിലാണ് നിർമ്മിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. ഒരു കാലത്ത് ടിപ്പു സുൽത്താന്റെ ആക്രമണത്തിൽ തകർന്ന് പോയ ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം നീണ്ട കാലം പരിപാലനരഹിതമായി നിലനിന്നിരുന്നു. പിന്നീട്, 2008-ലെ ജൂലൈയിൽ ഇതിന് പുനർജന്മം ലഭിച്ചു. ഇന്ന്, ക്ഷേത്രം ഭക്തജനങ്ങളുടെ അടങ്കം കൊണ്ട് വളർച്ചയുടെ പാതയിലാണ്. അടുത്തിടെ തന്നെ മഹാക്ഷേത്രമായി അംഗീകൃതമാകാനുള്ള സാധ്യതകൾ നിലനിൽക്കുന്നു.

തമിഴ്നാട്, കർണാടക എന്നിവയുള്‍പ്പെടെ സമീപ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നുള്ള അനേകം ഭക്തർ ഇവിടെ എത്തുന്നുണ്ട്. രാവിലെ അഞ്ചുമണിക്ക് നട തുറന്ന് നിർമ്മാല്യദർശനവും അഭിഷേകവും നടത്തി, ഉഷഃപൂജയും ഉച്ചപൂജയും കഴിഞ്ഞ് പതിനൊന്നുമണിയോടെ നട അടയ്ക്കുന്നു. വൈകിട്ട് അഞ്ചുമണിക്ക് വീണ്ടും നട തുറക്കുകയും സൂര്യാസ്തമയസമയത്ത് ദീപാരാധന നടത്തുകയും പിന്നീട് രാത്രി എട്ടുമണിക്ക് ഹരിവരാസനം പാടി ക്ഷേത്രം അടയ്ക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പൂജകൾ തമിഴ് ബ്രാഹ്മണർ ആചരിക്കുന്നു.

പ്രധാന വഴിപാടുകൾക്ക് ഗണപതിക്ക് ഒറ്റയപ്പം, മോദകം, ഗണപതിഹോമം എന്നിവയും, ശിവനു ധാര, ഭസ്മാഭിഷേകം, കൂവളമാല, പ്രദോഷപൂജ, പിൻവിളക്ക് തുടങ്ങിയവയും, പാർവതിക്കായി കുങ്കുമാർച്ചന, പട്ടും താലിയും ചാർത്തൽ, സ്വയംവരാർച്ചന തുടങ്ങിയവയും, മഹാവിഷ്ണുവിന് വെണ്ണ, പാൽപ്പായസം, കദളിപ്പഴം, തുളസിമാല എന്നിവയും, വൈദ്യഭാവമുള്ള ശാസ്താവിന് നീരാജനവും അരവണപ്പായസവുമാണ് പ്രധാനമായും ചെയ്യപ്പെടുന്നത്. അഞ്ചുമൂർത്തികളുടെ സാന്നിധ്യം കൊണ്ട് വിശിഷ്ടമായ ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ബലിതർപ്പണം നടത്തുന്നത് അത്യന്തം പുണ്യപ്രദമായതായി ഭക്തർ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു.
