Sree Azhikulangara Bhagavathi Temple is situated in Mudappallur, in the Palakkad district of Kerala.
It is believed that the presiding deity of this temple was brought from the Kallekkulangara Bhagavathi Temple during the reign of the Palakkattussery Raja. The main deity, Bhagavathi, faces east and is enshrined in the form of a Sila Kannadi (mirror-polished stone) idol. Daily poojas are performed twice.
Sree Azhikulangara Bhagavathi Temple is known for its vibrant annual "Vela" festival, which is celebrated on the 8th day of the Malayalam month of Edavam. This is followed by the grand Ezhunallippu on the 9th and the colorful Thalapoli procession on the 10th.
Originally owned by the Ammadam Kuruvattu Avanavu Mana, the temple is now managed by a local committee. Another important festival observed here is Kalampattu, held from the 30th and 31st of Medam to the 8th and 9th of Edavam (late April to early May).
മുടപ്പല്ലൂർ അഴിക്കുളങ്ങര ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം
പാലക്കാട് ജില്ലയിലെ അലത്തൂർ താലൂക്കിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന മുടപ്പല്ലൂർ ഗ്രാമത്തിലാണ് മുടപ്പല്ലൂർ അഴിക്കുളങ്ങര ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. ശാന്തസ്വരൂപിണിയായ ഭഗവതിയാണ് ഇവിടെ കിഴക്കോട്ടു ദർശനമായി പ്രതിഷ്ഠയുള്ളത്. ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന് ഏകദേശം അഞ്ഞൂറിലധികം വർഷം പഴക്കമുണ്ട് എന്ന് കരുതപ്പെടുന്നു.
ക്ഷേത്ര നവീകരണത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി, 2016-ലെ ഫെബ്രുവരി മാസം പുനഃപ്രതിഷ്ഠയും കുംഭാഭിഷേകവും നടത്തി. പുതുക്കിയ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ 15 അടി ഉയരമുള്ള ഭംഗിയുള്ള ഗോപുരവും നിർമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. പുറത്തെ തെക്കുവശത്ത് ബ്രഹ്മരക്ഷസ്സിന്റെയും അകത്തെ തെക്കുവശത്ത് ഗണപതിയുടെയും പ്രതിഷ്ഠകളുണ്ട്.
നാലമ്പലത്തിലേക്ക് കടക്കുമ്പോൾ കിഴക്കോട്ടു ദർശനമായി മഹാവിഷ്ണുവും വേട്ടക്കാരനും, പടിഞ്ഞാറോട്ടു ദർശനമായി മഹാദേവനും ധർമശാസ്താവും പ്രതിഷ്ഠിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.
മഹാവിഷ്ണുവിന്റെയും മഹാദേവന്റെയും ശ്രീകോവിലുകൾക്ക് പുറത്തെ ചുമരിൽ, തെക്കോട്ടു ദർശനമായി ഗണപതിയുടെയും നാഗങ്ങളുടെയും പ്രതിഷ്ഠയും ഉണ്ട്.
കർക്കടകമാസത്തിൽ ഭഗവതിക്ഷേത്രത്തിലും നാലമ്പലത്തിലും രാമായണപാരായണം സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. ഭഗവതിക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ കർക്കടകക്കഞ്ഞി വിതരണം പതിവായ ചടങ്ങാണ്.
മലയാളമാസമായ എടവം മാസം എട്ടാം തീയതിക്ക് നടക്കുന്ന വേലയാണ് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന ഉത്സവം. കൂടാതെ നവരാത്രി ആഘോഷങ്ങളുടെ ഭാഗമായി 11 ദിവസത്തെ വിളക്കുത്സവം വളരെ പ്രാധാന്യമുള്ളതാണ്.
