Elamannam Sree Sankaranarayana Swamy Temple, located in Elamannam, Thenkurissi, is one of the oldest and most revered temples in Palakkad District.
Lord Sankaranarayana Swamy—a divine fusion of Lord Shiva (Sankara) and Lord Vishnu (Narayana)—is enshrined here as a Swayambhoo (self-manifested idol), a rare occurrence in Kerala.
Situated around 12 kilometers south of Palakkad town, the temple stands as a testament to centuries-old Hindu rituals and traditions. Devotees from across the country visit to witness and participate in the sacred offerings and ceremonies.
The temple's major annual festival, Aarattu, is celebrated during March–April under the supervision of a Utsavam Committee, comprising local devotees and the Devaswom Manager. Shivaratri is observed here with great devotion, marked by traditional and elaborate rituals.
Other important festivals include Utsavam, Udayasthamana Pooja, Navarathri, and Ayyappan Pattu. The temple’s chief Thanthri is Sri Andaladi Narayanan Namboodiripad, and the Melsanthi (head priest) is Sri Sankaranarayan Namboodiri. Historical records and expert opinion suggest the temple’s legacy spans several centuries.

പാലക്കാട് ജില്ലയിലെ ഏറ്റവും പുരാതനമായ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നായ എളമന്നം ശ്രീ ശങ്കരനാരായണസ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രം തേങ്കുറിശ്ശി ഗ്രാമത്തിലാണ് സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. ശങ്കരനും (ശിവൻ) നാരായണനും (വിഷ്ണു) ഏകരൂപമായി സ്വയംഭൂ സ്വരൂപത്തിൽ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന, കേരളത്തിലെ അപൂർവമായ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണിത്.
പാലക്കാട് നഗരത്തിൽ നിന്ന് ഏകദേശം 12 കിലോമീറ്റർ ദൂരത്തിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം, ആത്മീയതക്കും ആചാര സമ്പന്നതയ്ക്കും അറിയപ്പെടുന്നതാണ്.
ശിവരാത്രി, ആറാട്ട്, നവരാത്രി, അയ്യപ്പൻ പാട്ട്, ഉത്സവം തുടങ്ങിയ പവിത്ര ദിവസങ്ങൾ വലിയ ഭക്തിപൂർവം ആഘോഷിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. ആചാരപരമായ ഘടനയും, തനതായ ആചാരങ്ങൾ പാലിക്കുന്നതുമൂലം പല ഭാഗങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നുമുള്ള ഭക്തർ ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം സന്ദർശിക്കുന്നു.
