Elavathukkal Bhagavathy Temple is situated in Nagalassery Village in Palakkad district, Kerala, around 6 km south of Thrithala and 3 km east of Koottanad.
Elavathukkal Temple is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathi, with the main deity facing east. Lord Ayyappan is worshipped as the Upa Devata here.
Annual pooram festival is celebrated on either Kumbham 7 or Kumbham 9, with the date being finalized through the traditional “Koothu Kuriyidal” ceremony on the first day of the Kumbham month.
A grand procession featuring 30 elephants from 8 different groups is a major attraction during the festival.
In earlier times, the temple was known for hosting the traditional “Nattukuttam.” It was once under the control of the Naduvazhi and is currently managed by the Palleri family.
എളവാതുക്കൽ ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം
എളവതുക്കൽ ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം പാലക്കാട് ജില്ലയിലെ നാഗലശ്ശേരി ഗ്രാമത്തിലാണ് സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം തൃത്താലയിൽ നിന്ന് ഏകദേശം 6 കിലോമീറ്റർ തെക്കായി, കൂടത്തനാടിൽ നിന്ന് 3 കിലോമീറ്റർ കിഴക്കായാണ് സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. വർഷംതോറും കുംഭം 7 അല്ലെങ്കിൽ കുമ്പം 9-നാണ് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ ഉത്സവം സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്.
കുമ്പമാസത്തിന്റെ ആദ്യദിനം നടക്കുന്ന "കൂത്ത് കുറിയിടൽ" ചടങ്ങിലാണ് പൂരം ദിവസത്തെ തീയ്യതി നിർണ്ണയിക്കുന്നത്.പൂരം ഉത്സവത്തിൽ 8 കൂട്ടങ്ങളിലായി ആകെ 30 ആനകളാണ് പങ്കെടുക്കുന്നത്.
ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠാ ദേവത ഭഗവതിയാണ്. ദേവി കിഴക്ക് ദിശയിലേക്കാണ് ദർശനം നൽകുന്നത്. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ ഉപദേവതയായി അയ്യപ്പനും പൂജിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. പഴയകാലത്ത് ഇവിടെ നാടുകൂട്ടം (നാട്ടുകൂട്ടം) നടത്തപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നുവെന്ന് അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു. ക്ഷേത്രം ആദ്യം നാട്ടുവാഴിയുടെയായിരുന്നു നിയന്ത്രണത്തിൽ.
ഇപ്പോൾ ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം പല്ലേരി കുടുംബമാണ് നോക്കി നടത്തുന്നത്.
