Enanimangalam Shiva Temple is situated on the serene banks of the Kunthipuzha River, near its origin at Pathrakkadavu in the Payyanadam region of Kumaramputhur Panchayat, Mannarkkad Taluk, Palakkad district.
According to legend, this sacred temple is believed to be a swayambhu (self-manifested) shrine of Lord Shiva, where He appeared before the Pandavas and blessed them. It is also believed that Kunthi Devi performed a yajna on the riverbank and washed her sacred vessel here, which is how the location got its name “Pathrakkadavu.”
The temple belongs to the Samanta community and is under the spiritual leadership of the Muppil Eradi family. The renovation of the sanctum sanctorum (Sreekovil) was undertaken under the leadership of Bhaskaran Thirumulpad. Newly constructed Nalambalam structures and shrines for deities such as Bhagavathy, Ganapathy, and Sastha have been established. Outside the Nalambalam, idols of Lord Ayyappa, Balanupuranthakan, and serpent deities (Nagas) have also been consecrated.
A separate shrine dedicated to the deity Vettekkaran has been constructed in the southwest corner of the temple premises. The main annual festival is observed on the Uthram star day in the month of Midhunam. Other major celebrations include the Bhagavatha Sapthaha Yajna in the month of Chingam and Shivaratri in Kumbham. Every year, special rituals like Paattu and Pantheerayiram are held for Vettekkaran.
On the Ayilyam star day, special poojas are offered to serpent deities, and Nagaprathishta Dinam along with Sarpabali is observed on the Revathi star day in Midhunam. The temple also conducts Uma-Maheshwara Pooja, believed to bring blessings for marital harmony and prosperity.
ഏനാനിമംഗലം ശിവ ക്ഷേത്രം
പാലക്കാട് ജില്ലയിലെ മണ്ണാർക്കാട് താലൂക്കിൽ, കുമരംപുത്തൂർ പഞ്ചായത്തിന്റെയും കുന്തിപ്പുഴയുടെ ഉത്ഭവസ്ഥാനമായ പാത്രക്കടവിന്റെയും സമീപം, മനോഹരമായ നദീതീരത്തിലാണ് പയ്യനെടം ഏനാനിമംഗലം ശിവക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. പാണ്ഡവർക്ക് പരമശിവൻ ദർശനം നൽകി അനുഗ്രഹം പകർന്നു, സ്വയംഭുവായി പ്രത്യക്ഷമായ സ്ഥാനമായാണിതെന്ന് സ്ഥലാചാരവിശ്വാസം പറയുന്നു.
കുന്തീപുത്രന്മാരുടെ മാതാവായ കുന്തിദേവി യാഗം കഴിഞ്ഞ് പാത്രം കഴുകി നദിയിൽ ഒഴുക്കിയതുകൊണ്ടാണ് ഈ പ്രദേശത്തിന് 'പാത്രക്കടവ്' എന്ന പേര് ലഭിച്ചത്. മൂപ്പിൽസ്ഥാനമുള്ള സാമന്ത സമുദായമായ ഏറാടിമാരിൽപെട്ട മൂപ്പിൽഏറാടി കുടുംബത്തിന്റെ ഊരായ്മയിലാണ് ഈ മഹാതീക്ഷ്ണമായ ശിവക്ഷേത്രം നിലകൊള്ളുന്നത്. ഭാസ്കരൻ തിരുമുൽപ്പാടിയുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ ശ്രീകോവിലിന്റെ നവീകരണപ്രവർത്തനം നടന്നിരുന്നു.
പുതുതായി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ നാലമ്പലം പണിതതോടൊപ്പം, ഭഗവതി, ഗണപതി, ശാസ്താവ് എന്നിവർക്കും പ്രത്യേക പ്രതിഷ്ഠകൾ നടത്തപ്പെട്ടു.
പുറത്തെ ഭാഗത്ത് അയ്യപ്പനും ബാലനൂപുരാന്തകനും നാഗദേവതകളും പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. അതുപോലെ തന്നെ തെക്ക് പടിഞ്ഞാറുഭാഗത്ത് വേട്ടേക്കരക്ഷേത്രവും സ്ഥാപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
മിഥുനമാസത്തിലെ ഉത്രം നാളിലാണ് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠാദിനം ആചരിക്കുന്നത്. ചിങ്ങമാസത്തിൽ ഭാഗവതസപ്താഹവും കുംഭത്തിൽ മഹാശിവരാത്രി ആഘോഷവുമാണ് പ്രധാന ഉത്സവങ്ങൾ.
വേട്ടേക്കരന്‍ പാട്ടും ചില വർഷങ്ങളിൽ പന്തീരായിരവും സമർപ്പിക്കുന്നതും ഇതിന്റെ ഭാഗമാണ്. ആയില്യം നാളിൽ നാഗപൂജയും, മിഥുനത്തിലെ രേവതിദിനത്തിൽ നാഗപ്രതിഷ്ഠാദിനം, സർപ്പബലികൾ എന്നിവയും പ്രത്യേക ആചാരമായി നടത്തുന്നു. മംഗല്യത്തിനായി ഉമാമഹേശ്വരപൂജയും ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു.
