Kandathar Kavu is a unique temple located in Kottayi Village, situated along the Kuzhalmannam - Peringottukurissi Road in Palakkad district, Kerala.
The temple is dedicated to Mother Goddess Bhagavathi and also houses a deity known as Kandathar, who is worshipped in the temple.
The shrine is also referred to as Panorkavu Kandathar Kavu. Kandathar is considered a mantravadi, or a black magician, wizard, or sorcerer. He transcends caste, creed, sect, or religion.
The Kandathar worshipped in the temple is known as Raman Kandathar.
The idol of Kandathar is depicted in the main sanctum sanctorum, where he is shown performing namaskaram (salutation) to Goddess Bhagavathi.
The temple is owned and managed by Olappamanna Mana.
കണ്ടത്താർകാവ് ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം
കണ്ടത്താർ കാവ്, കേരളത്തിലെ പാലക്കാട് ജില്ലയിലെ കുഴൽമന്നം - പെരിങ്ങോട്ടുകുറിശ്ശി റോഡിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന കോട്ടായി ഗ്രാമത്തിലെ ഒരു അതുല്യ ക്ഷേത്രമാണ്. ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം മാതാവ് ഭഗവതിക്ക് സമർപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ആരാധിക്കുന്ന കണ്ടത്താർ എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്ന ഒരു പ്രതിഷ്ഠയുമുണ്ട്.
പനോർക്കാവ് കണ്ടത്താർ കാവ് എന്ന പേരിലും ഈ ദേവാലയം അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു.
കണ്ടത്താർ ഒരു മന്ത്രവാദി, മാന്ത്രികൻ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ മന്ത്രവാദി എന്നാണ് വിശേഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് ജാതി, മതം, വിഭാഗം, അല്ലെങ്കിൽ മതം ഇല്ല. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ആരാധിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന കണ്ടത്താർ രാമൻ കണ്ടത്താർ എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്നു.പ്രധാന ശ്രീകോവിലിൽ ഭഗവതി ദേവിക്ക് നമസ്കാരം ചെയ്യുന്നതായി കണ്ടത്താർ മൂർത്തി ചിത്രീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം ഒളപ്പമണ്ണ മനയുടേതാണ്.
