Kattil Madam Temple, a granite structure dating back to the 11th century, exhibits architectural elements reminiscent of the Alpa Vimana style from the early Pandya or Chola periods.
Kattil Madam Temple features a square Garbhagriha (Sanctum Sanctorum) with an integrated Ardhamandapa, an octagonal Griva (neck of the dome), and a Sikhara (cupola), both sculpted from a single stone. The deity enshrined within Kattilmadam remains unidentified. This Nirandhara temple lacks a circumambulatory passage inside.
Its Adhishtana (plinth) comprises multiple moulded tiers, including Upana, Jagathi, a flattish Vritha Kumuda, Kantha, and Pattika. The eastern wall has a functional doorway, while the remaining three walls feature central Ghanadvaras (large grill windows) starting above the Pattikas. A Vedika (railed enclosure) supports the Kudyastambhas (wall-supporting pillars) and Torana arches, with each wall adorned with two corner pilasters framing a Makara Torana.
The Prastara (entablature) of Kattilmadam showcases a well-defined Uthara, Vajana, and Vallabhi, embellished with Bhutamala and Kapota with Kudas. While the temple's structure exhibits characteristics of early architectural styles, its decorative elements and Adhishtana closely align with the distinct traditions of Kerala temple architecture.

പാലക്കാട് ജില്ലയിലെ ഒരു നാശോന്മുഖ ജൈനക്ഷേത്രമാണ് കട്ടിൽമാടം ക്ഷേത്രം. ഇത് 9-10ാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടുകളിലുണ്ടായതായി കരുതപ്പെടുന്നു. പാലയിരുന്ന ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം പട്ടാമ്പി-ഗുരുവായൂർ റോഡിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു. ദ്രാവിഡ വാസ്തുശില്പശൈലിയിലും ചോള-പാണ്ഡ്യ സ്വാധീനത്തോടെയും ആണ് ഇതിന്റെ നിർമ്മാണം.
