Ongallur Thali Shiva Temple located at Manjalankallur near Ongallur in Pattambi Taluk of Palakkad district.
This is one of the 32 ancient Thali temples in Kerala and a prominent temple among the 18½ Thali temples associated with the Zamorin (Samuthiri) dynasty.
The main deity worshipped here is Lord Mahadeva (Shiva), enshrined in the form of a large and elongated Shivalinga.
The two-storied sanctum sanctorum (Sreekovil) faces east.
Sub-deities worshipped in the temple include Lord Ayyappa, Ashtami Thevar, Lord Ganesha, and Lord Dakshinamurthy. Ganesha and Dakshinamurthy face south. Regular rituals are performed twice daily.
Adjacent to the temple is a Narasimha Temple belonging to the Mullappalli Mana family. The chief priest of the Thali temple also performs the rituals at the Narasimha shrine. This temple is managed by the Malabar Devaswom Board.As it is a Shiva temple, the most important festivals observed here are Shivaratri and Thiruvathira. Additionally, continuous chanting of divine names (Akhandanamajapam) is conducted on the last Sunday of every Malayalam month.
ഓങ്ങല്ലൂർ തളി ശിവ ക്ഷേത്രം
കേരളത്തിലെ 32 തളി ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നായതും, സാമൂതിരിയുടെ പതിനെട്ടര തളി ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ടതുമായ ഒരു മഹാക്ഷേത്രമാണ് പാലക്കാട് ജില്ലയിലെ പട്ടാമ്പി താലൂക്കിൽ ഓങ്ങല്ലൂരിന് സമീപമുള്ള മഞ്ഞളങ്കല്ലൂരിൽ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന തളി മഹാദേവക്ഷേത്രം.ഇവിടത്തെ പ്രധാന പ്രതിഷ്ഠ ശിവലിംഗമായ മഹാദേവനാണ്.
ലിംഗം വളരെ വലിപ്പവും ഉയരവുമുള്ളതും ശക്തിയുടെയും സാനിധ്യത്തിന്റെയും പ്രതീകവുമാണ്. ശ്രീകോവിൽ രണ്ടുനിലയുള്ളതും ദർശനം കിഴക്കേയ്ക്ക് വരുന്നതുമാണ്.
ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ അയ്യപ്പൻ, അഷ്ടമിതേവർ, ഗണപതി, ദക്ഷിണാമൂർത്തി എന്നിവരെയാണ് ഉപദേവതകളായി പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. ഗണപതിയും ദക്ഷിണാമൂർത്തിയും തെക്കോട്ട് ദർശനമുള്ളവരാണ്. ദിവസേന രണ്ട് നേരം പതിവ് പൂജകൾ നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു.
ക്ഷേത്രത്തിനു സമീപം മുല്ലപ്പള്ളി മനക്കാരുടെ നരസിംഹക്ഷേത്രവുമുണ്ട്, അതിന്റെയും പൂജാദികാര്യങ്ങൾ തളി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ മേൽശാന്തിയാണ് നിർവഹിക്കുന്നത്.
മലബാർ ദേവസ്വം ബോർഡിന്റെ പരിപാലനത്തിലുള്ള ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം ചരിത്രപരമായും ആത്മീയവുമായ മഹത്വം നിറഞ്ഞതാണ്.
