Sri Thiruvaraikkal Temple is located in Thiruvazhiyode, under the Vellinezhi Panchayat of Palakkad district.
The temple is situated about 32 kilometers west of Palakkad and 8 kilometers east of Cherpulassery, along the Palakkad–Cherpulassery route. Estimated to be around 700 years old, the temple faces east and is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathy, the divine embodiment of Shakti and the fulfiller of devotees' wishes.
In 2002, the Sreemoolasthanam was constructed at the northwest corner of the temple. In 2010, a Bhairava deity was consecrated outside the temple towards the northeastern side near the northern entrance.
Later, in 2012, a Naga (serpent deity) was installed inside the temple at the southwestern corner. Since then, the temple observes the annual Pratishta Dinam (Consecration Day). The temple’s chief priest (Tantri) is Brahmashree Parameswaran Namboothiripad (Kunjan) of the Andaladi Mana family. The Pratishta Dinam of the Goddess is celebrated annually on the Anizham star in the Malayalam month of Vaisakham. Thiruvaraikkal Devaswom is a temple under the Malabar Devaswom Board. The temple observes a variety of festivals and rituals throughout the year with great devotion.
Festivities begin on the first day of the Malayalam month of Vrischikam and continue until the last Sunday of Dhanu with Kalampattu and Panathalappoli. On Medam 7, the Pooram festival is celebrated with three Desa Vela processions. The Naga Pratishta Dinam is observed in the month of Mithunam. In Karkidakam, a day is dedicated to the complete recitation of the Ramayana, followed by a three-day Mura Japam and Laksharchana.
The Ganeshotsavam takes place in the month of Chingam, Navaratri is celebrated in Kanni, and the Pathamchovva ritual is held on the first Tuesday after the 12th of Thulam.
In Vrischikam, Akhanda Namaarchana is performed.
Additionally, during the Pooram festival season, seven days of Tantri Pooja are conducted at the Mandathu Ganapathy Temple and the Vettakkorumakan Temple. A special Darukavadha Pattu is also performed on the first Sunday of every month.
ശ്രീ തിരുവരായ്ക്കൽ ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം
പാലക്കാട് ജില്ലയുടെ വെള്ളിനേഴി പഞ്ചായത്തിലെ തിരുവാഴിയോട് ദേശത്താണ് ശ്രീ തിരുവരായിക്കൾ ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. പാലക്കാട് – ചെർപ്പുളശ്ശേരി റൂട്ടിൽ, പാലക്കാട്ടിൽ നിന്ന് ഏകദേശം 32 കിലോമീറ്റർ പടിഞ്ഞാറായി, ചെർപ്പുളശ്ശേരിയിൽ നിന്ന് 8 കിലോമീറ്റർ കിഴക്കായി ആണ് ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. സാന്ദ്രമായ ആചാരപാരമ്പര്യങ്ങളോടും ആഴമുള്ള ഭക്തിസാന്ദ്രതയോടുമുള്ള ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന് ഏകദേശം 700 വർഷത്തോളം പഴക്കമുണ്ടെന്നാണ് കരുതുന്നത്.
കിഴക്കോട്ട് ദർശനമായി നിൽക്കുന്ന ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ശക്തിസ്വരൂപിയായും ഇഷ്ടഫലപ്രദായിനിയായും ശ്രീ ഭഗവതിയെയാണ് പ്രധാന പ്രതിഷ്ഠയായി ആരാധിക്കുന്നത്.2002-ൽ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ വടക്ക്-പടിഞ്ഞാറ് മൂലയിൽ ശ്രീ മൂലസ്ഥാനം നിർമ്മിച്ചു. 2010-ൽ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന് പുറത്തുള്ള വടക്കേ നടക്കിഴക്ക് ഭാഗത്ത് ഭൈരവൻ പ്രതിഷ്ഠ ചെയ്തു. 2012-ൽ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ അകത്ത് തെക്ക്-പടിഞ്ഞാറ് ഭാഗത്ത് നാഗപ്രതിഷ്ഠയും നടത്തി. അതേസമയം മുതൽ ഓരോ വർഷവും ഭഗവതിയുടെ പ്രതിഷ്ടാദിനം ആചരിച്ചു വരുന്നു. വൈശാഖ മാസത്തിലെ അനിഴം നക്ഷത്രമാണ് പ്രതിഷ്ടാദിനമായി ആചരിക്കുന്നത്. അണ്ടലാടി മനക്കൽ തന്ത്രി രത്നം ബ്രഹ്മശ്രീ പരമേശ്വരൻ (കുഞ്ഞൻ) നമ്പൂതിരിപാട് ആണ് ക്ഷേത്ര തന്ത്രി.മലബാർ ദേവസ്വം ബോർഡിന്റെ കീഴിലുള്ള ഗ്രേഡ് ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ പെട്ടതും ഈ ക്ഷേത്രമാണ്.
വിവിധ മാസങ്ങളിൽ വിവിധ ഉത്സവങ്ങളും ആചാരങ്ങളും വളരെ ഭക്തിപൂർവം ഇവിടെ ആഘോഷിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. വൃശ്ചികമാസം ഒന്നിന് ആരംഭിച്ച് ധനുമാസം അവസാനത്തെ ഞായറാഴ്ച വരെ നടക്കുന്ന കളംപാട്ടോടൊപ്പം പാനതാലപ്പൊലി, മേടം 7-ന് മൂന്ന് ദേശവേലകളോടുകൂടിയുള്ള പൂരം, മിഥുനമാസത്തിലെ നാഗപ്രതിഷ്ഠാദിനം, കർക്കിടകമാസത്തിലെ സമ്പൂർണരാമായണ പാരായണം, മൂന്നുദിവസത്തെ മുറജപം, ലക്ഷാർച്ചന, ചിങ്ങമാസത്തിലെ ഗണേശോത്സവം, കന്നിമാസത്തിലെ നവരാത്രി, തുലാമാസത്തിലെ 12-ന് ശേഷമുള്ള ആദ്യ ചൊവ്വാഴ്ച നടക്കുന്ന പാത്‌ചൊവ്വായ, വൃശ്ചികമാസത്തിലെ അഖണ്ഡനാമാർച്ചന എന്നിവ ആചരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.കൂടാതെ പൂരകാലത്ത് മന്ദത്ത് ഗണപതിക്ഷേത്രത്തിലും വേട്ടക്കൊരുമകൻ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലും ഏഴുദിവസം തന്ത്രിപൂജയും നടത്തുന്നു. എല്ലാ മാസവും ആദ്യ ഞായറാഴ്ച ദാരുകാവധം പാട്ട് ആചരിക്കുന്നത് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന് പ്രത്യേകത നൽകുന്നു.
