Thiruvazhiyode Shiva Temple is located in Sreekrishnapuram, Palakkad.
Shiva temple is over a thousand years old and is considered the first spiritual center of the region. Over time, the temple suffered damage due to aging, which led to a comprehensive renovation effort undertaken with the cooperation of local devotees.
According to legend, following a divine vision of Lord Rishiswara (Shiva), a portion of the large temple pond was filled to construct the temple at its current site. Adjacent to the Shiva temple is a Vishnu temple, where the deity faces west. The unique feature here is the presence of a divine configuration where Lord Shiva is worshipped along with Goddess Parvati and Lord Subrahmanya in a combined spiritual concept.
Historically, the temple belonged to the Kottakkal Kovilakam under the rule of the Zamorin kings. It is now managed by the Malabar Devaswom Board. Major festivals celebrated at the temple include Maha Shivaratri, Karkidaka Vavu, Karthika Vilakku, and Thiruvathira. Facilities for performing Bali Tharpanam (ancestral offerings) are also available.Darshan (worship) timings are from 5:30 AM to 9:30 AM and 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. The temple is easily accessible, located about 1.5 kilometers from the Thiruvazhiyode junction, situated between the Palakkad–Cherpulassery and Mannarkkad–Ottapalam routes.

പാലക്കാട് ജില്ലയിലെ ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണപുരത്ത് സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ആയിരത്തിലധികം വർഷം പഴക്കമുള്ള തിരുവാഴിയോട് ശിവക്ഷേത്രം കാലത്തിന്റെ പിടിയാൽ ബലക്ഷയമേറ്റതിനെ തുടർന്ന്, പ്രദേശത്തെ ഭക്തജനങ്ങളുടെ സഹകരണത്തോടെ ക്ഷേത്രം പുനരുദ്ധരിക്കാനുള്ള പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ ആരംഭിക്കപ്പെട്ടു. ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം ദേശത്തിന്റെ ആദികൈക ചൈതന്യകേന്ദ്രമായി കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. ഐതിഹ്യമനുസരിച്ച്, ഋഷീശ്വരന് ദർശനം ലഭിച്ച സ്ഥലമായ വിശാലമായ കുളത്തിലെ ഒരു ഭാഗം നികത്തി ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥാപിച്ചതാണ് ഈ ദൈവാലയത്തിന്റെ ഉത്ഭവം.
ശിവക്ഷേത്രത്തിന് സമീപം പടിഞ്ഞാറേ ദർശനമുള്ള ഒരു വിഷ്ണുക്ഷേത്രവും സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു. ഇവിടെ പാർവതിയോടും സുബ്രഹ്മണ്യനോടും ചേർന്ന വ്യൂഹ സങ്കല്പമാണ് ആരാധനയ്ക്കുള്ളത്. കിഴക്കൻ മലബാറിലെ ശക്തമായ ഭരണാധികാരികളായിരുന്ന സാമൂതിരിമാരുടെ കീഴിലുള്ള കോട്ടയ്ക്കൽ കോവിലകത്തിന് ഒരിടത്താണ് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം അകാലത്തിൽ ആകുന്നത്. നിലവിൽ ക്ഷേത്രം മലബാർ ദേവസ്വം ബോർഡിന്റെ കീഴിലാണ്.
ശിവരാത്രി, കർക്കിടകവാവ്, കാർത്തികവിളക്ക്, തിരുവാതിര എന്നിവയാണ് പ്രധാന ഉത്സവദിവസങ്ങൾ. ബലിതർപ്പണത്തിനുള്ള സൗകര്യങ്ങളും ഇവിടെ ഒരുക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ക്ഷേത്ര ദർശന സമയം രാവിലെ 5:30 മുതൽ 9:30 വരെയും വൈകിട്ട് 5:30 മുതൽ 7:00 വരെയുമാണ്. പാലക്കാട്–ചെർപ്പുളശ്ശേരി റൂട്ടിലും മണ്ണാർക്കാട്–ഒറ്റപ്പാലം റൂട്ടിലും തിരുവാഴിയോട് ജംഗ്ഷനിൽ നിന്ന് ശിവക്ഷേത്രം റോഡിലൂടെ ഏകദേശം ഒന്നര കിലോമീറ്റർ സഞ്ചരിച്ചാൽ ഈ ദൈവാലയത്തിലെത്തിച്ചേരാം.
