Thootha Sree Bhagavathy Temple in Palakkad is a revered shrine dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathy.
Located along the banks of the Thootha River, the temple is deeply significant as the abode of the village deity. According to legend, a Brahmin woman once discovered a miraculous pot of milk floating in the river, believed to embody the divine presence of the goddess. This sacred event led to the founding of the temple, which continues to draw devotees in search of blessings and spiritual comfort.
Thootha Pooram is celebrated here with great splendour and holds the honour of being the final Pooram festival of the season in the Malabar region. It is famed for its cultural richness and grand festivities, and is considered one of the largest Poorams after the renowned Thrissur Pooram.
The festival draws a vast number of devotees and spectators who come to witness the vibrant processions, traditional rituals, and celebrations.
The temple also hosts the Bhagavatha Sapthaha Yajnam, a seven-day spiritual event focused on the reading and exposition of the Bhagavata Purana. Devotees gather in large numbers to listen to the divine stories and teachings of Lord Krishna, seeking spiritual awakening and divine blessings.

പാലക്കാടിന്റെ ഗ്രാമീണ ശോഭയും നദിയോരസൗന്ദര്യവും ആസ്വദിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് ഭഗവതിയെ ദർശിച്ച് പുണ്യം നേടാനാകുന്ന മനോഹരമായ ഒരു തീർത്ഥാടനകേന്ദ്രമാണ് ശ്രീ തൂത ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം. പഴയ മലബാറിലെ പ്രധാന ഭദ്രകാളി ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നായ ഈ ദേവാലയം പാലക്കാട്-മലപ്പുറം ജില്ലകളുടെ അതിർത്തിയായ തൂതനദിയുടെ തീരത്താണ് സ്ഥിതിചെയുന്നത്.
മേടമാസത്തിൽ നടക്കുന്ന ശ്രീ തൂത ഭഗവതി പൂരം വള്ളുവനാട്ടിലെ ഏറ്റവും പ്രശസ്തമായ പൂരങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നായി പ്രശസ്തമാണ്. ദേശത്തിന്റെ താടിപ്പിണഞ്ഞ ദേശീയോത്സവം കൂടിയാണ് ഈ മഹോത്സവം. ആകാശവും ഭൂമിയും ഒത്തുചേർന്നുനിൽക്കുന്ന ഈ നദീതട സന്നിധിയിൽ, കളം പാട്ട്, താലപ്പൊലി, ചവിട്ടുകളി, നായർ വേൽ, കതിര്‍വേൽ തുടങ്ങിയ അനേകം അനുഷ്ഠാനങ്ങളും, നാദബ്രഹ്മത്തിന്റെ ആനന്ദവും, ഭക്തി ഭാവത്തിന്റെ ഉച്ചാവാസവുമെല്ലാം ചേർന്ന്, കാളവേൽ പോലുള്ള ചടങ്ങുകൾ വഴി കൃഷിയേയും കാളത്തെയേയും ആരാധിക്കുന്ന ഈ മഹോത്സവത്തിന് ദേവതകളുടെയുവരെ സാന്നിധ്യം ഉണ്ടാകുന്നു എന്ന വിശ്വാസമാണ് നിലനിൽക്കുന്നത്.
