Sree Vayillamkunnilappan Temple Katampazhipuram Palakkad

Situated near Kadambazhipuram on the Palakkad–Cherpulassery road, the temple’s presiding deity is Vaiyalliyamkunnilappan (also known as Vaiyalliyamkunnappan). Vaiyalliyamkunnilappan is believed to be the 12th son of Vararuchi and his wife, born into the legendary Panthirukulam (a group of twelve children). According to folklore, this son was born without a mouth, and Vararuchi is said to have installed him on a hilltop.

Over time, he came to be known as Vaiyalliyamkunnilappan and is regarded as the divine embodiment of speech and voice. Among the twelve children, he is the only one without any descendants. Vaiyalliyamkunnilappan is considered an incarnation of Lord Shiva, and all rituals in the temple are dedicated to Shiva. The main idol is a small Shiva Lingam facing east, with a deity of Parvati placed behind it. The temple also houses sub-deities including Ganapathy, Ayyappan, Subrahmanya, the Naga gods, and Brahmarakshas.

വായില്ല്യാംകുന്നു് ക്ഷേത്രം കടമ്പഴിപ്പുറം

പാലക്കാട് ജില്ലയിലെ കടമ്പഴിപ്പുറം ഗ്രാമത്തിലാണ് വായില്ല്യാംകുന്ന് ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. പാലക്കാട്–ചെർപുളശ്ശേരി റോഡിനരികെ, കടമ്പഴിപ്പുറത്തിനടുത്തായി നിലകൊള്ളുന്ന ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ വായില്ലാക്കുന്നിലപ്പൻ (വായില്ല്യാംകുന്നപ്പൻ) ആണ് പ്രധാന പ്രതിഷ്ഠ. പന്തിരുകുലത്തിലെ വരരുചിയും ഭാര്യയും ലഭിച്ച പതിനൊന്ന് മക്കളിൽ പതിനിരണ്ടാമത്തേതായി വായില്ലാത്തവനായി പിറന്ന പുത്രനെയാണ് വരരുചി ഒരു മലമുകളിൽ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചതെന്നു വിശ്വാസം.

പിന്നീട് വായില്ലാക്കുന്നിലപ്പൻ എന്നറിയപ്പെട്ട ഈ ദൈവം ശബ്ദത്തിന്റെയും സംസാരശേഷിയുടേയും ദൈവികശക്തിയായി ആരാധിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. പന്തിരുകുലത്തിലെ പിന്മുറക്കാർ ഇല്ലാത്ത ഏക പുത്രൻ വായില്ലാക്കുന്നിലപ്പനാണ്.ശിവന്റെ അവതാരമായി വായില്ലാക്കുന്നിലപ്പനെ കണക്കാക്കുന്നു. അതിനാൽ ഇവിടെ നടക്കുന്ന എല്ലാ പൂജകളും ശിവസങ്കല്പത്തിലാണ്.

കിഴക്കോട്ട് ദർശനമുള്ള ചെറിയ ശിവലിംഗമാണ് പ്രധാന പ്രതിഷ്ഠ. ഇതിന് പുറകെ പാർവതീദേവിയുടെ സാന്നിധ്യവുമുണ്ട്. കൂടാതെ ഗണപതി, അയ്യപ്പൻ, സുബ്രഹ്മണ്യൻ, നാഗദേവതകൾ, ബ്രഹ്മരക്ഷസ്സ് എന്നിവർക്കും ഉപദേവതാപ്രതിഷ്ഠകളുണ്ട്.
