Mundoor Vikramundeswaram Temple, located about 400 meters from Mundoor, Palakkad.
This is a centuries-old temple (over 600 years old) with Lord Mahadeva and Lord Mahavishnu consecrated within a single chuttambalam (inner sanctum courtyard) facing west. The temple also houses sub-deities including Lord Ganapathi, Lord Ayyappa, Mukkile Thevar (a form of Lord Shiva), and serpent deities (Nagas).
The temple is currently managed under the Malabar Devaswom Board. The traditional custodians (Ooralars) of the temple are the members of the Ollapamanna Mana.
Major festivals celebrated here include Maha Shivaratri, Sreekrishna Jayanthi, Niraputhari, Vishukkani, Thiruvathira feast, Vinayaka Chaturthi, Vidyarambham, and Kuchela Dinam. Special abhishekam (ritual bathing) and poojas are performed on every Pradosham (a sacred Shiva day).
Tantri (chief priest) of the temple is Vasudevan Namboothiri from the Lakkidi Panavoor Mana, and the Melsanthi (head priest) is Deepak Mishra. The temple is overseen by a Managing Trustee, while daily affairs are coordinated by a dedicated Temple Advisory Committee.
വിക്രമുണ്ഡേശ്വരം ക്ഷേത്രം
മുണ്ടൂർ വിക്രമുണ്ഡേശ്വരം ക്ഷേത്രം, പാലക്കാട് ജില്ലയിലെ മുണ്ടൂരിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു. ഇത് ഏകദേശം 400 മീറ്റർ ദൂരം മുണ്ടൂർ കൂട്ടുപാതയിൽ നിന്ന് അകലത്തിലാണ്. പടിഞ്ഞാറ് അഭിമുഖമായി നിർമ്മിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം ഏകദേശം 600 വർഷം പഴക്കമുള്ളതും ചരിത്രപരമായി ഏറെ പ്രധാന്യമുള്ളതുമാണ്.
ക്ഷേത്രം ഒരു ചുറ്റമ്പലത്തിനകത്താണ്, അതിൽ മഹാദേവനും മഹാവിഷ്ണുവും പ്രധാനപ്രതിഷ്ഠകളായി വിശേഷിച്ച് നിലകൊള്ളുന്നു.ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ ഊരാളന്മാർക്ക് ഒളപ്പമണ്ണ മനക്കാരാണ്, ഈ കുടുംബം ചരിത്രപരമായി ക്ഷേത്ര സംരക്ഷണത്തിലും ആചാരശുചിത്വത്തിലും പ്രധാന പങ്ക് വഹിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
മികച്ച ആചാരാനുഷ്ഠാനങ്ങൾ പാലിക്കുന്ന ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ഗണപതി, അയ്യപ്പൻ, മുക്കിലെത്തേവർ (ശിവൻ), നാഗങ്ങൾ എന്നിവയും ഉപദേവതകളായി പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
ക്ഷേത്രം ഇപ്പോൾ മലബാർ ദേവസ്വം ബോർഡിന്റെ കീഴിലാണ്.
പ്രധാന ഉത്സവങ്ങൾ ശിവരാത്രി, ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണ ജയന്തി, നിറപുത്തിരി, വിഷുക്കണി, തിരുവാതിരയൂട്ട്, വിനായക ചതുർത്ഥി, വിദ്യാരംഭം, കുചേലദിനം എന്നിവ ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നു. ഓരോ പ്രദോഷത്തിന്റെയും ദിവസങ്ങളിൽ പ്രത്യേക അഭിഷേകങ്ങളും പൂജകളും നടക്കുന്നു.
ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ തന്ത്രി ശ്രീ പനാവൂർ മന വാസുദേവൻ നമ്പൂതിരിയാണും, മേൽശാന്തിയായി ശ്രീ ദീപക് മിശ്രയാണ് സേവനം അനുഷ്ഠിക്കുന്നത്. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ ഭരണ ചുമതല മാനേജിങ് ട്രസ്റ്റിയുടെയും, ദൈനംദിന കാര്യങ്ങൾ ക്ഷേത്രോപദേശക സമിതിയുടെയും കീഴിലായാണ് മുന്നോട്ടുപോകുന്നത്.
