Anikkattilammakshethram is a Hindu temple located in Anicadu Village, approximately 3.5 kilometers from Mallappally in the Pathanamthitta district.
In this temple, both Adiparasakthi Sivan and the benevolent Parvathi are venerated with equal reverence within a single Sreekovil, a rarity in Kerala. The idols, each approximately 4 feet tall, represent Agnimahakalan and Agniyekshi and are positioned side by side. The depiction of Lord Shiva as a demon (Kiratha) is armed with a bow and arrow, while Parvati wields a sword.
Located along the banks of the Manimala River, this temple is believed to have been established around 1600 years ago during the early period of the Edapally dynasty. In addition to the primary deities housed in the main Sreekovil, the courtyard features sub-abodes dedicated to Lord Siva, Bhadra, Nagaraja, Rakshasas, and Yekshiamma.
Anikkattilamma temple serves as the sanctuary for the goddess, who embodies both preservation and destruction. She nurtures her followers with the same devotion a mother shows her children. The Pongala Pooja takes place on the day of Pooram in the month of Kumbham. This annual festival, known as Utsavam, is celebrated over eight days during Kumbham and culminates on the day of the Pooram star. Anikkattilammayku Pongala is the most esteemed festival of this temple, drawing devotees from across Kerala. On the day of Pongala, thousands of women gather with their offerings to the Goddess, seeking her blessings. The festival begins on the Rohini day of the Malayalam months of Makaram and Kumbham (February-March).
The eight-day celebration reaches its peak on the eighth day, known as Pongala, when countless women flock to the temple to present pongala in earthen pots. Pongala, a rice porridge, is prepared until it boils over. The influx of women is so overwhelming that the Pongala grounds extend beyond the temple boundaries and into the public streets. Women offer pongala within a radius of approximately 2 kilometers, effectively transforming the entire areas of Pullukuthy and Kavanalkadavu into sacred spaces for this offering.
The vibrancy and excitement of the day's celebrations, which are entirely dedicated to the women devotees, cannot be adequately captured in words. Devotees from various regions of India gather to pay their respects to the omnipotent goddess, seeking relief from their hardships and the bestowal of blessings. The temple is situated just 4 kilometers from the central town of Mallappally, nestled in a predominantly rural area, despite the highly urbanized surroundings. The Pongala 2017 Festival is scheduled to commence on March 4, 2017, and will conclude on March 11, 2017. This annual Ponkala festival is celebrated in honor of the esteemed Anikkattilamma Temple. The Pongala Mahotsavam is not only a local event; it draws attention from around the globe, as devotees eagerly anticipate the sacred ceremony, praying to the Devi for the opportunity to partake in it.

പത്തനംതിട്ട ജില്ലയിലെ മല്ലപ്പള്ളി താലുക്കിൽ, മല്ലപ്പള്ളി ബസ് സ്റ്റാൻഡിൽ നിന്നും 4 കി.മി. അകലെ ആനിക്കാട് ഗ്രാമത്തിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ക്ഷേത്രമാണ് ആനിക്കാട്ടിലമ്മ ക്ഷേത്രം, അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ആനിക്കാട്ടിൽ ശിവപാർവ്വതിക്ഷേത്രം. മണിമലയാർ ആനിക്കാട് ഗ്രാമത്തിന്റെ മധ്യഭാഗത്തായി ഒഴുകുന്നു. നദിയുടെ കരയിൽ പുല്ലുകുത്തി ജംഗ്ഷനോട് ചേർന്നാണ് ഐശര്യപ്രദായിനി ആനിക്കാട്ടിലമ്മയുടെ ശിവപാർവ്വതിക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്.
പ്രധാന ശ്രീകോവിൽ ശിവനും പാർവ്വതിയും സമാനപ്രാധാന്യത്തോടെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം 1600-ൽ പരം വർഷങ്ങളുടെ പഴക്കം ഉള്ളതായി കരുതപ്പെടുന്നു. പ്രധാന ശ്രീകോവിൽ കൂടാതെ, പടിഞ്ഞാറ് ദർശനം നൽകുന്ന ശിവൻ, ഭദ്ര, രക്ഷസ്, നാഗരാജാവ്, യക്ഷിയമ്മ തുടങ്ങിയ ഉപദേവാലയങ്ങളും ഇവിടെ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു.
വെള്ളിയാഴ്ചകളിൽ മംഗല്യഭാഗ്യത്തിനായി നാരങ്ങാവിളക്ക് വഴിപാടും, ശനിയാഴ്ചകളിൽ തൃശൂലപൂജയും നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു. തുടർന്ന് നടക്കുന്ന അന്നദാനത്തിൽ ആയിരക്കണക്കിന് ഭക്തർ പങ്കെടുക്കുന്നു. കുംഭമാസത്തിലെ പൂരം നാളിൽ ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ പൊങ്കാല നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു. വർഷം മുഴുവൻ പൂക്കളുമായി കൊന്നമരം ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ മുറ്റത്ത് നിലകൊള്ളുന്നു.
വെള്ളിയാഴ്ചകളിൽ നാരങ്ങാവിളക്കിന് ശേഷം, ശനിയാഴ്ചകളിൽ ത്രിശൂലപൂജയ്ക്ക് ശേഷം നൽകുന്ന അന്നദാനത്തിൽ ദൂരദേശങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നുള്ള നിരവധി ഭക്തർ പങ്കുചേരുന്നു. ദർശനസമയം തിങ്കളിൽ നിന്ന് വ്യാഴം വരെ രാവിലെ 5.30 മുതൽ 11 വരെ, വൈകിട്ട് 5.30 മുതൽ 8 മണി വരെ ആണ്. വെള്ളി, ശനി, ഞായർ ദിവസങ്ങളിൽ രാവിലെ 5.30 മുതൽ 12.30 വരെ, വൈകിട്ട് 5.30 മുതൽ 8 മണി വരെ ദർശനം ലഭ്യമാണ്.
