Edakadathy Sri Dharmashasta Temple is a historic temple situated in the Vechuchira Grama Panchayat within the Ranni Taluk of Pathanamthitta District.
Sri Dharma Shasta Temple is located approximately 300 meters from Edakadathy Junction (Arattukadavu). Positioned along the banks of the Pampa River, this temple features 18 steps that are accessible to women.
The region is referred to as Arattukadav due to the Thiruaraattu ceremonies of both the Mukututhara Sri Krishna Swamy Temple and the Edakadathy Sri Dharma Shasta Temple, which take place in the holy waters of the Pampa River adjacent to the temple. Lemon lamp is observed on the first Friday of each month. Ayilya Puja takes place monthly on Ayilyam day. Shanishwara Puja is held on the last Saturday of every month.
Medam Vishu (Kanikanal) features special Pujas. In Karkidakam, Karuthavaav Balitarpanam and Uthramnal Mahamrityunjayahoma along with Aushadseva are conducted. In Chiingam, Vinayaka Chaturthi is celebrated on Chaturthi day. Kanni marks the occasion of Vijayarambhasami (Vidyarambhasami). Vruschikam includes Karthikavilakam and the Pongala festival, while Mandalapuja occurs during Vruschikam/Dhanu. Finally, Meenam hosts the Uttaram Tiruvutsavam, which is conducted as Aarattu.
ഇടകടത്തി ശ്രീ ധർമ്മ ശാസ്താ ക്ഷേത്രം
പത്തനംതിട്ട ജില്ലയിലെ റാന്നിയിലെ വെച്ചൂച്ചിറയിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ഇടകടത്തി ശ്രീ ധർമശാസ്താ ക്ഷേത്രം, സ്ത്രീകൾക്ക് പതിനെട്ടാം പടി കയറി ഭഗവാനെ ദർശിക്കാൻ സാധിക്കുന്നതിലൂടെ പ്രശസ്തമാണ്. ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന പ്രതിഷ്ഠ അയ്യപ്പ ഭഗവാനാണ്. പമ്പ നദിയുടെ തീരത്താണ് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്, ഈ പ്രദേശം ആറാട്ടുകടവ് എന്ന പേരിൽ അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു.
മുക്കൂട്ടുതറ ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണ സ്വാമി തിരു ആറാട്ടും ഇടകടത്തി ശ്രീ ധർമശാസ്താവിന്റെ തിരു ആറാട്ടും പമ്പ നദിയിൽ നടക്കുന്നതിനാൽ ഈ പേര് ലഭിച്ചുവെന്നാണ് വിശ്വാസം. ഭഗവാന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചാൽ എല്ലാ ദുരിതങ്ങളും അകന്ന് ജീവിതത്തിൽ സന്തോഷം ലഭിക്കുമെന്ന് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു. മീന മാസത്തിലെ ഉത്രം നാളിൽ ആറാട്ടോടു കൂടിയ ഉത്സവം നടക്കുന്നു. ഈ മഹോത്സവത്തോടനുബന്ധിച്ച് പതിനെട്ടാം പടി പൂജയും നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു.
ഉത്സവ സമയത്ത് പമ്പാനദിയിലെ പുണ്യജലം ശേഖരിച്ച് കുംഭാഭിഷേകം നടത്തുന്നു.
എല്ലാ മാസങ്ങളിലെയും ആദ്യത്തെ വെള്ളിയാഴ്ച നാരങ്ങാവിളക്ക് പൂജ നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു. കറുത്തവാവ്, വിനായകചതുർത്ഥി, വിഷു, തൃക്കാർത്തിക, വിജയദശമി എന്നിവ ഇവിടെ ആഘോഷിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. ആയില്യപൂജയും ശനീശ്വര പൂജയും ഇവിടെ പ്രധാനമായും നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു.
