Kadakkad Sree Bhadrakali Temple is a Hindu temple situated in Pandalam, India. It is positioned to the north of Kadakkad, adjacent to the Pathanamthitta MC Road.
Kadakkad Sree Bhadrakali Temple complex features an anakkottil, which serves as a platform for elephants during the Seva rite, as well as an office space. It is equipped to host Hindu weddings, complete with a feast hall and changing rooms. Additionally, there is a stage designated for cultural events.
The principal deity worshipped at the temple is Bhadrakali, alongside shrines dedicated to other deities, including Brahmarakshas, Yakshi, and Nāga. The annual Pongala festival draws hundreds of female devotees to the shrine.
The 'Pongala' ritual involves the preparation of 'prasad' for the deity outside the shrine.
Women prepare rice and jaggery in earthen pots, which they then offer to the Goddess. They also create various sweet dishes, known as 'mandaputtu,' 'appam,' and 'therali,' using rice flour and jaggery. Coconut fronds are utilized in the cooking process for the 'prasad.'
During this festive period, the temple is adorned with natural materials. The holy fire from the temple is taken out to ignite the cooking fire for the Pongala.

പത്തനംതിട്ട ജില്ലയിൽ പന്തളത്തുനിന്ന് 1.5 കിലോമീറ്റർ കിഴക്കായി സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന പുരാതന ക്ഷേത്രമാണ് കടയ്ക്കാട് ശ്രീ ഭദ്രകാളീ ക്ഷേത്രം. കേരളത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും പുരാതനമായ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നായ ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ കാണപ്പെടുന്ന കോലപ്രതിഷ്ഠയാണ് പ്രധാന ആകർഷണം. എല്ലാ മലയാളമാസങ്ങളിലും നാലാമത്തെ വെള്ളിയാഴ്ച നടത്തപ്പെടുന്ന വിശേഷാൽ ഗുരുതി പുഷ്പാഞ്ജലി വഴിപാട് നടത്താൻ നിരവധി ഭക്തജനങ്ങൾ ഇവിടെ എത്തുന്നു.
ബ്രഹ്മരക്ഷസ്, യക്ഷി, നാഗരാജ എന്നിവരെ ഉപദേവതകളായി ആരാധിക്കുന്നു, അവർക്കായി പ്രത്യേക ആരാധനാലയങ്ങളും സ്ഥാപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. ക്ഷേത്രോത്സവത്തോടനുബന്ധിച്ച് നടക്കുന്ന പൊങ്കാല ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന വഴിപാടാണ്. മഹിഷാസുരനെ വധിച്ച ദേവിയെ പൊങ്കാലയിലൂടെ ജനങ്ങൾ സ്വീകരിച്ചുവെന്നാണ് വിശ്വാസം. ഈ ചടങ്ങിന്റെ ഓർമ്മയിൽ പൊങ്കാല ആചരിക്കുന്നതാണെന്ന് പറയപ്പെടുന്നു. കലിയുഗത്തിൽ ദുഷ്ടനിഗ്രഹത്തിനുള്ള അവതാരമായും ദേശത്തെ രക്ഷിക്കുന്നതിനും വേണ്ടി ഭഗവതിയെ ഭക്തർ വണങ്ങുന്നു.
കോപിഷ്ഠയായ ഭഗവതിയെ പ്രീതിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതിനായാണ് പൊങ്കാല അർപ്പിക്കുന്നതെന്ന വിശ്വാസം ശക്തമാണ്. പൊങ്കാല മഹോത്സവത്തിൽ പങ്കെടുക്കാൻ നൂറുകണക്കിന് സ്ത്രീഭക്തർ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെത്തുന്നു. പണ്ടാര അടുപ്പിൽ തീ കത്തിച്ചു പൊങ്കാലക്ക് തുടക്കമിടുന്നതും ദേവിക്ക് പൊങ്കാല നിവേദിക്കുന്നതും, തുടർന്ന് താലപ്പൊലി, വിളക്കുകെട്ട്, പുറത്തെഴുന്നള്ളത്ത്, തട്ടനിവേദ്യം എന്നിവ ആചാരപ്രകാരം നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു.
