Mannadi Vadakkekavu Devi Temple is a historic shrine devoted to Goddess Durga, located in the Pathanamthitta District.
Mannadi Vadakkekavu Devi Temple is situated off Enathu along the Adoor – Kottarakkara MC Road, approximately 3 kilometers from Enathu, en route to Kadampanad. There are four temples dedicated to Mannadi Bhagwati: Pazhayakavu, Puthikavu, Mudipura, and Thrikodi Devi Temple.
The construction of Mullapanthal, Patampalam, Nadappura, and Puppada Kottil in Pazhayakavu was commissioned by the King of Ilayitathu. The Puthikavil temple and Pattampalam were established by the King of Kayamkulam, who also presented golden hair to the deity. Currently, a flag adorned with gold and precious stones, contributed by local kings and nobles for Deviprasad, has been erected by Kampithan.
This temple is renowned for hosting the Mannadi Uchabali ceremony, with the hair traditionally stored in the Mudipura temple. At present, the temple complex comprises two structures: the older Pazhayakavu Temple and the newer Puthiyakavu Temple. The annual temple festival is celebrated for seven days during the month of Kumbham, with the first six days taking place in the new shrine and the final day observed in the old temple.
മണ്ണടി വടക്കേക്കാവ് ദേവീ ക്ഷേത്രം
മണ്ണടി ഭഗവതിയുടെ സാന്നിധ്യമുള്ള നാല് ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങൾ ഇവിടെ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു: പഴയകാവ്, പുതിയകാവ്, മുടിപ്പുര, തൃക്കൊടി ദേവീക്ഷേത്രം. പഴയകാവിൽ മുല്ലപ്പന്തലും പാട്ടമ്പലവും നടപ്പുരയും പൂപ്പട കൊട്ടിയും ഇളയിടത്ത് രാജാവിന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ പണികഴിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
പുതിയകാവിൽ, ക്ഷേത്രവും പാട്ടമ്പലവും കായംകുളം രാജാവിന്റെ സഹായത്തോടെ നിർമ്മിക്കപ്പെട്ടതോടൊപ്പം, സ്വർണമുടിയും നൽകപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. ദേവീപ്രസാദത്തിനായി നാട്ടുരാജാക്കന്മാരും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും നൽകുന്ന സ്വർണവും രത്നക്കല്ലുകളും ഉപയോഗിച്ച് കാമ്പിത്താൻ പണികഴിപ്പിച്ച കൊടി, മണ്ണടി തൃക്കൊടി ദേവീ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ഇന്നും നിലനിൽക്കുന്നു.
ചരിത്രപരമായ ഉച്ചബലി നടക്കുന്ന ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം, ആചാരപ്രകാരം മുടി സൂക്ഷിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളത് മുടിപ്പുര ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലാണ്. മണ്ണടിക്കാവിലെ വെളിച്ചപ്പാടായ കാമ്പിത്താൻറെ സിദ്ധികളും ജനങ്ങളിലെ സ്വാധീനവും വളരെ വലിയതായിരുന്നു. കല്ലടയാറിൻറെ തീരത്ത് ശിലയിൽ നിർമ്മിച്ച ശില്പങ്ങളും കൊത്തുപണികളും അടങ്ങിയ കാമ്പിത്താൻ മണ്ഡപം അത്ഭുതകരമായ ഒരു കാഴ്ചയാണ്.
