Sree Porittikkavu Devi Temple is situated in Ambattubhagam, within the Pathanamthitta district.
Sree Porittikkavu Devi Temple holds the padayani festival annually during the Malayalam months of Kumbham and Meenam. This celebration commences on Kumbha Rohini and concludes on Meena Rohini. The padayani at Porittikkavu is observed by the residents of six kara (regions) divided into two distinct groups.
Given that it is a communal celebration, each ritual is performed twice, including two Adavi and Valiya Padayani rituals. The first group comprises the regions of Ambattubhagam, Vennikulam, and Kavungum Prayar, while the second group includes Thuruthikkadu, Valangara, and Cherukappoor. The festival commences with the Sadhipu ritual during the Rohini asterism in the Malayalam month of Kumbham. Following this, the Chootuvaipu ritual takes place on the twelfth day, and from the seventeenth day onward, the kolam performances commence.
The initial presentation is the Ganapathy Kolam, which is succeeded by the performance of the Ganapathy Kolam by another group on the subsequent day. The Adavi of the first group occurs during the Pururuttathi asterism, which is on the 21st day, while the Adavi of the second group takes place on Uthrattathi. The kolams and rituals associated with the Adavi at Porittikkavu include Bhairavi, Marutha, Yakshi, Pakshi, Kaalamadan kolams, Pallippana, Mara Adavi, and Pooppada.
Valiya Padayani is observed during the final two days of the celebration.
The rituals for Valiya Padayani commence with Kalathil Kappoli and Bhattaminukku, followed by the performance of various kolams such as Bhairavi, Paradeshi, Anthara Yakshi, Marutha, Vinodam, Pakshi, Kaalan Kolam, Kootta Yakshi, Kootta Marutha, and Mangala Bhairavi.

പത്തനംതിട്ട ജില്ലയിലെ പുറമറ്റത്തുനിന്ന് ഏകദേശം 5 കിലോമീറ്റർ അകലെയുള്ള മണിമലയാറിന്റെ തീരത്ത് സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന മനോഹരമായ ക്ഷേത്രമാണ് അമ്പാട്ടുഭാഗം ശ്രീ പോരിട്ടിക്കാവ് ദേവി ക്ഷേത്രം. ഈ പ്രദേശത്തെ ദേവതയാണ് പോരിട്ടിക്കാവിലമ്മ. ശ്രീ പൊരിട്ടിക്കാവ് ദേവീക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ എല്ലാ വർഷവും മലയാള മാസങ്ങളായ കുംഭം, മീനം മാസങ്ങളിൽ പടയണി ഉത്സവം ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നു.
കുംഭ രോഹിണി ദിനത്തിൽ ആരംഭിക്കുന്ന ഈ ഉത്സവം മീനരോഹിണി ദിനത്തിൽ സമാപിക്കും. മലയാള മാസമായ കുംഭത്തിലെ രോഹിണി നക്ഷത്രത്തിൽ സധിപു എന്ന ചടങ്ങിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി ഇവിടെ ഉത്സവം ആരംഭിക്കുന്നു. പന്ത്രണ്ടാം ദിവസം ചൂട്ടുവയ്പ്പ് എന്ന ചടങ്ങ് നടക്കും, പതിനേഴാം ദിവസം മുതൽ കോലം പ്രകടനം ആരംഭിക്കും. ആദ്യം ഗണപതി കോലമാണ് വരുന്നത്.
ആദ്യ ഗ്രൂപ്പിന്റെ അടവി 21-ാം തീയതി പൂരുരുട്ടാതി നക്ഷത്രത്തിലും ഉത്രട്ടാതി നാളിൽ മറുവിഭാഗത്തിന്റെ അടവിയിലും നടക്കും. പൊരിട്ടിക്കാവിലെ അടവിയിലെ കോലങ്ങളും ആചാരങ്ങളും ഭൈരവി, മറുത, യക്ഷി, പക്ഷി, കാലമാടൻ കോലങ്ങൾ, പള്ളിപ്പന, മര അടവി, പൂപ്പട എന്നിവയാണ്. വലിയ പടയണി ആഘോഷം അവസാന രണ്ട് ദിവസങ്ങളിൽ നടക്കും. കളത്തിൽ കപ്പോലി, ഭട്ടമിനുക്ക് എന്നിവയോടെ ആരംഭിക്കുന്ന ഈ ചടങ്ങുകൾക്ക് ശേഷം ഭൈരവി, പരദേശി, അന്തരയക്ഷി, മറുത, വിനോദം, പക്ഷി, കാളൻ കോലം, കൂട്ട യക്ഷി, കൂട്ട മറുത, മംഗളഭൈരവി തുടങ്ങിയ കോലങ്ങൾ അവതരിപ്പിക്കും.
