Elam Mahadevar Temple is notable for its historical significance and uniqueness, located 8.6 kilometers from Mallapally and 4.9 kilometers from Kirvaipur in the Pathanamthitta district.
Elam Mahadevar temple is dedicated to the Supreme deity Mahadeva, while another sanctum houses Lord Vishnu, symbolizing a balance of power. This temple is notable for its unique orientation, featuring both Lord Shiva and Vishnu facing east, with flag poles positioned on either side.
In addition to the principal deities, the temple also includes sub-deities such as Shasta, Subahmanya, Ganapati, Rakshas, and Na Garaja. The primary offerings include Mahadev Narathala Nivedya, Jaladhara, and Mrita Jaya Pushpanjali, among others. For Mahavi Shnu, Palpayasam is presented, along with Sha Stav: Neerajanam Ellupaya Sam. The offerings for Subrahmanyam consist of Panchamritham, a Lemon Garland, while Ganesha is honored with Unniappam and Modakam.
The ten-day festival commences on the Pururutati day of the Kumbh month and concludes with the Aarat ceremony at Thiruvathira. Throughout the Mandal period, a duration of 41 days will be dedicated to chirping, lighting, and bhajan. The chief officiant for the temple rituals is Tantrimukhyan Parampurillat Brahmashree Nilakanthan Narayanan Bhattathiripad.

പത്തനംതിട്ട ജില്ലയിലെ മല്ലപ്പള്ളിയിൽ നിന്ന് 8.6 കിലോമീറ്ററും കീഴ്വായ്പൂരിൽ നിന്നും 4.9 കിലോമീറ്റർ അകലെയായി സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ഏലാം മഹാദേവർ ക്ഷേത്രം, അതിന്റെ പുരാതനതയും തുല്യതയുടെ അപൂർവതയും കൊണ്ട് ശ്രദ്ധേയമാണ്. ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ഉഗ്രമൂർത്തിയായ മഹാദേവന്റെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠയോടൊപ്പം, ശക്തി തുല്യതയ്ക്കായി മഹാവിഷ്ണുവിന്റെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠയും കാണപ്പെടുന്നു.
ശിവനും വിഷ്ണുവും ഭഗവാൻമാർക്കു കിഴക്ക് ദർശനമുണ്ടായിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം, ഇരുനടകളിലും കൊടിമരങ്ങളുമുള്ള അപൂർവമായ ഒരു ക്ഷേത്രമാണ്. പ്രധാന പ്രതിഷ്ഠകൾക്കു പുറമേ, ശാസ്താവ്, സുബഹ്മണ്യൻ, ഗണപതി, രക്ഷസ്സ്, നാഗരാജാവ് എന്നിവയും ഉപദേവതകളായി ഇവിടെ നിലകൊള്ളുന്നു.
മഹാദേവന് നിവേദ്യമായ പ്രധാന വഴിപാടുകൾ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നു: നരത്തല, ജലധാര, മൃത ജയ പുഷ്പാഞ്ജലി എന്നിവ. മഹാവിഷ്ണുവിന് പാൽപായസം, ശാസ്താവിന് നീരാജനം, എള്ളുപായസം എന്നിവ സമർപ്പിക്കുന്നു. സുബ്രഹ്മണ്യന് പഞ്ചാമൃതം, നാരങ്ങാമാല, ഗണപതിക്ക് ഉണ്ണിയപ്പം, മോദകം എന്നിവ നൽകുന്നു.
കുംഭമാസത്തിലെ പൂരുരുട്ടാതി നാളിൽ കൊടിയേറി 10 ദിവസത്തെ ഉത്സവം തിരുവാതിരയിൽ ആറാട്ടോടെ സമാപിക്കുന്നു.
മണ്ഡലകാലത്ത് 41 ദിവസത്തെ ചിറപ്പും ചുറ്റുവിളക്കും ഭജനയും നടക്കും. തന്ത്രിമുഖ്യൻ ബ്രഹ്മശ്രീ നീലകണ്ഠൻ നാരായണൻ ഭട്ടതിരിപ്പാടിന്റെ മുഖ്യകാർമ്മികത്വത്തിൽ പരമ്പൂരില്ലത്ത് ക്ഷേത്രാചാരങ്ങൾ ക്രമീകരിച്ച് നടത്തുന്നു.
