Thazhoor Bhagavathy Temple, located on the banks of the Achankovil River in Vazhamuttom, Pathanamthitta District, is a historic temple that dates back 300 years. The principal deity worshipped at this temple is Sree BhadraDevi.
Padayani festival, celebrated in Kumbham, holds significant importance for the residents of Vallicode, Vazhamuttom, V Kottayam, Pramadom, and surrounding regions. Devotees from various towns gather to participate in this revered event honoring Devi Thazhooramma. Annually, Padayani performances take place at the temple, showcasing ancient folklore through traditional songs and dances that have been preserved in this part of Kerala.
Additionally, a Paraezhunnellippu occurs in Kumbham, culminating on the Vishu day in Medam. പത്തനംതിട്ട പട്ടണത്തിൽ നിന്ന് 4.5 കിലോമീറ്റർ അകലെയുള്ള ഒമല്ലൂർ പഞ്ചായത്തിലെ വാഴമുട്ടം എന്ന സ്ഥലത്ത്, അച്ചൻകോവിലാറിന്റെ തീരത്തുള്ള മനോഹരമായ പ്രകൃതിദൃശ്യങ്ങളോടുകൂടിയ സ്ഥലമാണ്.

നമസ്കാര മണ്ഡപത്തിന്റെ നാലു തൂണുകളിൽ സപ്തമാതാക്കൾ ആയ ബ്രഹ്മി, വൈഷ്ണവി, ഇന്ദ്രാണി, മഹേശ്വരി, കൗമാരി, വരാഹി, ചാമുണ്ഡി എന്നിവരും, സപ്ത കന്യകളും, ശാസ്താവ്, ഗണപതി എന്നിവരുടെ ശില്പങ്ങൾ നിർമ്മിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. നമസ്കാര മണ്ഡപത്തിന് മുകളിലായി അഷ്ടലക്ഷ്മി രൂപങ്ങൾ ദാരുശില്പങ്ങളായി സൃഷ്ടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ ഉൾവശത്ത് വളരെ ഉന്നതമായ കൊത്തുപണികളും, ദാരുശില്പങ്ങളും, ശില്പങ്ങളും ഉൾക്കൊള്ളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
ഏകദേശം നാല് ഏക്കറോളം വിസ്തൃതിയിൽ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ വിശാലമായ ആനക്കൊട്ടിൽ, അതിർത്തി മതിൽ, കല്ലിലും മരത്തിലും നിർമ്മിച്ച കരകൗശല കൊത്തുപണികൾ നിറഞ്ഞ പ്രവേശന ഗോപുരം (അലങ്കര ഗോപുരം) എന്നിവ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ മനോഹാരിത വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
