Vazamuttam Sri Maha Vishnu Temple is a revered ancient shrine situated half a kilometer from Vazamuttam in the Pathanamthitta district.
The principal deity of the temple is Lord Vishnu, who is positioned facing the East. Lord Vishnu is enshrined within a two-storied square temple. The tranquility and spaciousness offered by the surrounding nature contribute to the temple's distinctiveness.
Various religious activities are conducted here, including Bhagavata Saptaham, Akhandanam Japa, Ramayana recitation during the Karkitaka month, Ganapati Homam, Bhagavati Seva, Vinayaka Chaturthi, Mahaganapati Homam, Poojavayapu in the Kanni month, special pujas for Ayyappan during Mandalakalam, Puspanjali, Sarvaishwarya Puja, and Pongala, among others. Additionally, facilities are available for devotees to tend to the birth star tree and perform pooja.

പത്തനംതിട്ട ജില്ലയിൽ വാഴമുട്ടത്തുനിന്ന് രണ്ടര കിലോമീറ്റർ അകലെയായി ചന്ദനപ്പിള്ളി കോന്നി റോഡിന്റെ പടിഞ്ഞാറ് ഭാഗത്ത് സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന പുരാതന ക്ഷേത്രമാണ് വാഴമുട്ടം ശ്രീ മഹാവിഷ്ണു ക്ഷേത്രം. പ്രകൃതിയുടെ സമൃദ്ധമായ ശാന്തതയും വിശാലതയും ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ അന്തരീക്ഷത്തെ പ്രത്യേകത നൽകുന്നു. പ്രശസ്തമായ കൈപ്പള്ളിക്കാവും താഴൂർ ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രവും ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ അടുത്തുള്ള പ്രദേശങ്ങളിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു.
മഹാവിഷ്ണുവാണ് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ മുഖ്യപ്രതിഷ്ഠ, കിഴക്കുദർശനമായി കുടികൊള്ളുന്ന ശംഖുചക്രഗദാപദ്മധാരിയായ മഹാവിഷ്ണുവാണ് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ മുഖ്യപ്രതിഷ്ഠ. സമചതുരാകൃതിയിലുള്ള ഇരുനില കോവിലിനുള്ളിൽ വിഷ്ണുഭഗവാൻ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു. ഭഗവാൻറെ അനുഗ്രഹം, ഭക്തരുടെ, ക്ഷേത്രഭാരവാഹികളുടെ അക്ഷയപ്രയത്നങ്ങൾ എന്നിവയുടെ സഹായത്തോടെ, കാതലായ നിർമ്മാണ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ നടത്തി ക്ഷേത്രാന്തരീക്ഷം ഭക്തിസാന്ദ്രമാക്കാൻ സാധിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ഭാഗവത സപ്താഹം, അഖണ്ഡനാമജപം, കർക്കിടക മാസത്തിൽ രാമയണം വായന, ഗണപതി ഹോമം, ഭഗവതി സേവ, വിനായക ചതുർത്ഥി, മഹാഗണപതി ഹോമം, കന്നി മാസത്തിൽ പൂജവയ്പ്, മണ്ഡലക്കാലത്ത് അയ്യപ്പനു പ്രത്യേക പൂജകൾ, പുഷ്പാഞ്ജലി, സർവൈശ്വര്യ പൂജ, പൊങ്കാല തുടങ്ങിയ ആചാരങ്ങൾ അനുഷ്ഠിച്ച് വരുന്നു. ഭക്തന്മാർക്കായി ജന്മനക്ഷത്രവൃക്ഷ പരിപാലനത്തിനും പൂജയ്ക്കുമുള്ള സൗകര്യം ഇവിടെ ഒരുക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
