Kuttankulangara Sree MahaVishnu Temple is a revered Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu, who is worshipped here in the divine form of Santana Gopala or Santhanagopalamoorthy.

കുട്ടൻകുളങ്ങര ശ്രീ മഹാവിഷ്ണു ക്ഷേത്രം ഭഗവാൻ മഹാവിഷ്ണുവിന് സമർപ്പിച്ച ഒരു പ്രശസ്തമായ ഹിന്ദുക്ഷേത്രമാണ്. ഇവിടെ ഭഗവാനെ പ്രത്യേകമായി സന്താനഗോപാലൻ എന്ന രൂപത്തിൽ ആരാധിക്കുന്നു. സന്താന സൗഭാഗ്യത്തിനും കുടുംബത്തിന്റെ ക്ഷേമത്തിനും അനുഗ്രഹം തേടുന്ന ഭക്തരാണ് ഇവിടെ പ്രധാനമായും എത്തുന്നത്. കേരളത്തിലെ തൃശ്ശൂരിനടുത്തുള്ള കുട്ടൻകുളങ്ങര എന്ന പ്രദേശത്താണ് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം പ്രദേശവാസികളുടെയും സമീപ പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലെ ഭക്തന്മാരുടെയും ആത്മീയകേന്ദ്രമായിട്ടുണ്ട്.
മലയാള മാസമായ മകരത്തിൽ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ഉത്സവം ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നു. ഈ ഉത്സവം ഹിന്ദു കലണ്ടറിലെ ശുഭദിനങ്ങളുമായി ഒത്തുചേരുന്ന രീതിയിലാണ് നടത്തുന്നത്. നിരവധി ദിവസങ്ങളിലായി നീണ്ടുനിൽക്കുന്ന ഈ ഉത്സവത്തിൽ സമീപ പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലുള്ള വലിയ തോതിലുള്ള ഭക്തജനസാന്നിധ്യം കാണപ്പെടുന്നു. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ വിഷു ആഘോഷങ്ങൾക്കും പ്രത്യേക പ്രാധാന്യമുണ്ട്. വിഷുവിന്റെ പ്രധാന ആചാരങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്ന് വിഷുക്കണി ഒരുക്കുകയാണിത്.
അരി, പഴം, പച്ചക്കറി, പൂക്കൾ, നാണയങ്ങൾ എന്നിവയെല്ലാം ചേര്‍ത്ത് ഭഗവാന്റെ പ്രതിമയുടെ മുമ്പിൽ അലങ്കാരപൂർവ്വം ഒരുക്കുന്നതാണ് വിഷുക്കണി. വിഷുവിന്റെ മുമ്പ് രാത്രിയിൽ തന്നെ വിഷുക്കണി ഒരുക്കി, വിഷുവിന്റെ രാവിലെ അത് ദർശിക്കുകയാണ് ആചാരം. ഇത് ആ വർഷത്തിനുള്ള നല്ല ഭാഗ്യവും ഐശ്വര്യവുമാണ് നൽകുന്നതെന്നാണ് വിശ്വാസം.
