Laloor Bhagavathy Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Karthyayani, located in Laloor, Thrissur City, Kerala.
The temple is managed by the Cochin Devaswom Board and actively participates in the annual Thrissur Pooram festival. The presiding deity, Goddess Karthyayani, is worshipped in the form of a young girl (Bala Bhava). This temple is one among the 108 Durga temples in Kerala believed to have been established by Saint Parasurama.
The name "Laloor" is believed to have originated from "Yagoor," as the place was once a prominent site for conducting yagas (sacred rituals). During Thrissur Pooram, the goddess proceeds to Vadakkumnathan Temple with a procession of nine caparisoned elephants to offer her respects. The goddess also visits Vadakkumnathan Temple on the occasion of Shivratri.An inscription of a sacred mantra used by the Gopis to worship the goddess in their desire to attain Lord Krishna as their husband can be found inside the temple.
ലാലൂർ കാർത്ത്യായനി ക്ഷേത്രം
പരശുരാമൻ സ്ഥാപിച്ച 108 ദുർഗാക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണ് ലാലൂർ കാർത്ത്യായനി ക്ഷേത്രം. പുരാതനകാലത്ത് "യാഗങ്ങളുടെ ഭൂമി" എന്നറിയപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന ഈ സ്ഥലം പിന്നീട് ലാലൂർ എന്ന് അറിയപ്പെടുകയായിരുന്നു. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിതയായ ദേവിയാണ് കാർത്ത്യായനി ഭഗവതി. വടക്കുംനാഥൻ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ ശ്രീരാമന്റെ ശ്രീകോവിലിന്റെ അതേ രീതിയിലുള്ള കൊത്തുപണികൾ ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ ശ്രീകോവിലിലും കാണപ്പെടുന്നു, ഇതൊരു പ്രധാന പ്രത്യേകതയാണ്. കൂടാതെ, ഉപദേവതകൾക്ക് പ്രതിഷ്ഠകളില്ല എന്നതും ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ മറ്റൊരു പ്രത്യേകതയാണ്.
കല്ലിൽ കൊത്തിയ പ്രതിഷ്ഠയാണ് ഇവിടുത്തെ ദേവീമൂർത്തി. ക്ഷേത്ര കവാടത്തിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ബലിക്കല്ലിന് എട്ട് അടിയോളം ഉയരമുണ്ട്. ദേവിയുടെ കാൽപാദത്തിന്റെ ഉയരത്തിന് അനുസൃതമായും അതായത് പാതിപാടുള്ള ഉയരമാകണം എന്നതാണ് ഈ ബലിക്കല്ലിന്റെ ആകൃതിയിലേക്കുള്ള നിയമം.ഇവിടുത്തെ ലാലൂർ ഭഗവതിയും കാരമുക്ക് ഭഗവതിയും സഹോദരിമാരാണെന്നാണ് നാട്ടു വിശ്വാസം.
തൃശ്ശൂർ പൂരത്തിലെ പ്രധാന ഘടകപൂരങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണ് ലാലൂർ ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം. പൂരനാളിൽ രാവിലെ 6 മണിക്ക് മൂന്നാനകളോടും മേളം, പഞ്ചവാദ്യസഹിതം ദേവി വടക്കുംനാഥൻ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലേക്കുള്ള യാത്ര ആരംഭിക്കുന്നു. കോട്ടപ്പുറത്തെത്തുമ്പോൾ ആനകളുടെ എണ്ണം അഞ്ചിൽ നിന്ന് ഒമ്പതാകുന്നു. രാവിലെ പത്ത് മണിയോടെ ദേവി വടക്കുംനാഥനെ വണങ്ങുകയും പിന്നീട് ലാലൂരിലേക്ക് തിരിച്ച് മടങ്ങുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. വൈകിട്ട് ആറിന് വീണ്ടും വടക്കുംനാഥനെ സന്ദർശിക്കാൻ ദേവി പുറപ്പെടും. രാത്രി 10 മണിക്ക് തിരിച്ച് യാത്ര ആരംഭിച്ച് 11.30 ഓടെ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെത്തിയാണ് സമാപിക്കുന്നത്.
