Aazhimala Shiva Temple (ആഴിമല ശിവ ക്ഷേത്രം) is a Hindu place of worship situated along the Arabian Sea coastline, close to Vizhinjam in the Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala, India. It is dedicated to the deity Shiva.

The temple is situated in Pulinkudi, within the Kottukal panchayat of the Thiruvananthapuram district in Kerala. It can be found 0.8 kilometers (0.50 miles) from the Vizhinjam–Poovar road, near a cliff that borders the beach.The architectural design of the temple bears resemblance to that of the temples found in Tamil Nadu. The exterior walls and gopuram are embellished with vibrant sculptures representing various Hindu deities, including Ganesha, Ayyappan, Vishnu, Kartikeya, and Hanuman. Additionally, the sanctuaries dedicated to the main deity and other subordinate deities are equally vivid, featuring intricate carvings, murals, and decorative elements.
Within the temple, there exists an 18-meter (58-foot) tall concrete representation of Shiva in the form of Gangadhareshwara. This remarkable sculpture was crafted by P. S. Devadathan, a local artist from Aazhimala. The construction of the sculpture commenced on April 2, 2014, and it was completed and made accessible to the public on December 31, 2020. It currently holds the distinction of being the tallest Gangadhareshwara sculpture in India and the tallest Shiva sculpture in the state of Kerala.
The artwork portrays a four-armed Shiva seated in a meditative position.
The back right hand grasps a damaru, while the front right hand rests upon the right thigh. The back left hand wields a trishula, and the front left hand is elevated within the jaṭā (dreadlocks), cradling the river Ganga. The sculpture is positioned on a rock, elevated at a height of 6.1 meters (20 feet).The primary deity worshipped at the temple is Shiva, while Ganesha and Parvati serve as the secondary deities. Additionally, there exists a modest shrine dedicated to Yogeshvara.
Utsavam, the yearly festival, takes place in the Malayalam month of Makaram (January–February). Another significant event is Shivaratri. Tuesdays typically witness the highest attendance, as numerous devotees travel from distant locations to participate.

കേരളത്തിലെ തിരുവനന്തപുരം ജില്ലയിൽ വിഴിഞ്ഞത്തിനടുത്തുള്ള പുളിങ്കുടിയിൽ കടൽത്തീരത്തിന് സമീപം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന പ്രശസ്തമായ ഹൈന്ദവ ക്ഷേത്രമാണ് ആഴിമല ശിവക്ഷേത്രം. 58 അടി (18 മീറ്റർ) ഉയരമുള്ള ശ്രീ പരമേശ്വരന്റെ ഗംഗാധരേശ്വര രൂപത്തിലുള്ള മനോഹരമായ ശിൽപം ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ പ്രധാന ആകർഷണമാണ്. കേരളത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും ഉയരം കൂടിയ ശിവപ്രതിമ കൂടിയാണ് ഇത്. ജാതിമത ഭേദമന്യേ വിശ്വാസികൾക്ക് ഇവിടെ പ്രവേശനം അനുവദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
ആഴിമല ശിവക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ ഭരണ ചുമതല ദേവസ്വം ട്രസ്റ്റിനാണ്. ഈ ട്രസ്റ്റ് വാർഷിക ഉത്സവം സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുന്നതും ക്ഷേത്രവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട പ്രധാന തീരുമാനങ്ങൾ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നതും നടത്തുന്നു.ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ വാസ്തുശൈലി തമിഴ്നാട്ടിലെ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളുമായി ഏറെ സമാനമാണ്. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ കവാടങ്ങളും ഗോപുരങ്ങളും ഗണപതി, മഹാവിഷ്ണു, മുരുകൻ, അയ്യപ്പൻ, ഹനുമാൻ തുടങ്ങിയ വിവിധ ഹൈന്ദവ ദേവതകളുടെ മനോഹരമായ ശിൽപ്പങ്ങളാൽ അലങ്കരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
ശിവന്റെ ഗംഗാധരേശ്വര രൂപത്തിലുള്ള 58 അടി (18 മീറ്റർ) ഉയരമുള്ള കോൺക്രീറ്റ് ശിൽപം സ്ഥാപിച്ചതിന് ശേഷം, ക്ഷേത്രം കൂടുതൽ പ്രശസ്തി നേടിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഈ ശിൽപത്തിൽ, ശിവനെ ജടയിൽ നിന്നും ഗംഗാദേവിയെ മോചിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ചതുർഭുജങ്ങളോടുകൂടി ചിത്രീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. ശിൽപ്പത്തിന്റെ പിന്നിലെ വലത് കൈയിൽ ഡമരുവും, മുൻ വലത് കൈ വലത് തുടയിലും, പിന്നിലെ ഇടത് കൈയിൽ ത്രിശൂലവും, മുൻ ഇടതു കൈ ജടയ്ക്കുള്ളിലൂടെ ഉയർത്തിയ നിലയിലുമാണ്. 20 അടി (6.1 മീറ്റർ) ഉയരമുള്ള ഒരു പാറയിൽ ഈ ശിൽപം സ്ഥാപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. കടലിനോട് അടുത്തതിനാൽ, കടൽക്കാറ്റിനെ പ്രതിരോധിക്കുന്ന രീതിയിൽ രൂപകൽപ്പന ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു. ശിവരൂപത്തിന് താഴെ, 3500 ചതുരശ്ര അടി വിസ്തീർണമുള്ള ധ്യാനമണ്ഡപം മൂന്ന് നിലകളിലായി നിർമ്മിക്കുന്നു.
ഗുഹാസമാനമായ മണ്ഡപത്തിലേക്ക്, ഗംഗാധരേശ്വര പ്രതിമയുടെ സമീപത്തെ ചെറിയ കവാടത്തിലൂടെ 27 പടികൾ കടന്നാണ് പ്രവേശനം നേടുന്നത്.ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ മുഖ്യ പ്രതിഷ്ഠ ശിവനാണ്. ഗണപതിയും ശ്രീ പാർവതിയുമാണ് ഉപദേവതകൾ. ഭഗവാനെ ആരാധിക്കുന്നതിനായി ഇവിടെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ച യോഗീശ്വരന്റെ ഒരു ചെറിയ ശ്രീകോവിലുമുണ്ട്.മകര മാസത്തിൽ (ജനുവരി-ഫെബ്രുവരി) ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ വാർഷിക ഉത്സവം നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു. ധനുമാസത്തിലെ തിരുവാതിര, മഹാശിവരാത്രി, പ്രദോഷ ശനിയാഴ്ച, പാർവതി പ്രധാനമായ നവരാത്രി, തൃക്കാർത്തിക എന്നിവയാണ് മറ്റ് പ്രധാന ദിവസങ്ങൾ.
ദൂരദേശങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നുള്ള നിരവധി ഭക്തർ ഈ പ്രത്യേക അവസരങ്ങളിൽ ക്ഷേത്രദർശനത്തിന് എത്തുന്നു. ചൊവ്വാഴ്ചയാണ് സാധാരണയായി ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതൽ തിരക്കുള്ള ദിവസം.ശിവപ്രധാനമായ ഞായർ, തിങ്കൾ, പ്രദോഷ ശനിയാഴ്ച, ജന്മ നക്ഷത്ര ദിനം, മലയാളം-ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് മാസങ്ങളിലെ ആദ്യ തീയതി, പാർവതി പ്രധാനമായ തിങ്കൾ, ചൊവ്വ, വെള്ളി, പൗർണമി, നവരാത്രി ദിവസങ്ങൾ ദർശനത്തിന് ഏറെ പ്രധാനമാണ്.
