Chemmaruthi Sree Krishna Maha temple is one of the most famous temples in Kerala, offering everyone absolution and fulfillment of wishes. Located in Kallambalam Njekkad village, Thiruvananthapuram district, 8.6 km north-east of Varkala Railway Station, 29 km south of Kollam, 39 km northwest of Thiruvananthapuram, 7.3 km east of Sivagiri Mutt.
Chemmaruthy Sreekrishna Temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna. Ganapathi Homam takes place on the first day of each Malayalam month, whereas the Ayilya Puja is conducted on Ayilyam days. Ashtamirohini Mahotsav is celebrated with considerable importance, featuring a sobhayatra in which children dress as Lord Krishna. The primary offerings include Trikkaivenna, Thattam Nivedyam, Thirumadhuram, Panchamrita Abhishekam, and Kadalipazham Nivedyam.

ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണന് സമർപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതാണ്. ഓരോ മലയാള മാസം ആരംഭിക്കുന്ന ദിവസവും ഗണപതി ഹോമം നടത്തപ്പെടുകയും, ആയില്യം നാളുകളിൽ ആയില്യ പൂജ നടത്തപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. അഷ്ടമിരോഹിണി മഹോത്സവം ഏറെ പ്രാധാന്യത്തോടെ ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്, ഇതിൽ കുട്ടികൾ ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണന്റെ വേഷം ധരിച്ച് പങ്കെടുക്കുന്ന ശോഭായാത്ര പ്രത്യേകതയാണ്. പ്രധാന നേവേദ്യങ്ങൾ തൃക്കൈവെണ്ണ, തട്ടം നേവേദ്യം, തിരുമധുരം, പഞ്ചാമൃത അഭിഷേകം, കദളിപഴം നേവേദ്യം എന്നിവയാണ്.
