Elamba Sri Mahadeva Temple, (ഇളംബ ശ്രീ മഹാദേവ ക്ഷേത്രം) an ancient shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva, is situated in Elamba village, approximately 7.8 kilometers from Attingal in the Thiruvananthapuram district. The temple, which had fallen into disrepair over the centuries, is currently undergoing significant restoration efforts spearheaded by the Shreepadam Temples Charitable Trust.
In recent years, with divine blessings and the generous support of devotees alongside the Shreepadam Temples Charitable Trust, significant progress has been made in enhancing the temple's devotional atmosphere through essential construction efforts. The collaborative renovation of the temple, undertaken by both the custodians and the community, is a manifestation of ancient virtues. The realization of this renovation is expected to usher in national wealth, prosperity, cooperation, and kindness. The ultimate purpose of human existence is the realization of God. Following the creation of the universe, Mahadeva here embodies Shaktiswarupa, having transformed into the earth before Brahma Tejass. The Elamba Sri Mahadeva Temple serves as a sacred center that facilitates devotion among humanity. The deity of Elamba, depicted in profound penance—a rare sight—stands as a distinctive feature of this Shiva temple.The primary significant occasion at the temple is Shivaratri, which occurs during the month of Kumbham. This event is observed with customary rituals and special pujas.
