Keleswaram Sreemahadeva Temple is a prominent Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the village of Keleswaram in Thiruvananthapuram.

തിരുവനന്തപുരം ജില്ലയിലെ പെരിങ്ങമ്മലവും പുന്നമൂടിനും ഇടയിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന കേളേശ്വരം ഗ്രാമത്തിൽ കേളേശ്വരം ശ്രീ മഹാദേവർ ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു. ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം ഒരു ചെറിയ കുന്നിന്റെ മുകളിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു. മഹാദേവനോടു സമർപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം, പടിഞ്ഞാറ് ദർശനമായുള്ള അപൂർവ്വ ശിവക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണ്. മഹാദേവനോടൊപ്പം പ്രധാന ഉപദേവതകളായ വിഷ്ണു, ദുർഗ്ഗ, ഗണപതി, നാഗരാജ, സുബ്രഹ്മണ്യൻ, അയ്യപ്പൻ എന്നിവരെയും ആരാധിക്കുന്നു. ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം തിരുവിതാംകൂർ ദേവസ്വം ബോർഡിന്റെ കീഴിലാണ് പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നത്.
പത്താം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിൽ ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥാപിതമായതായി വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ ശിലാരൂപങ്ങൾ പതിനൊന്നാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിലേതാണ്, രാജേന്ദ്ര ചോളൻ ഒന്നാമന്റെ ഭരണകാലത്തുള്ളവ. 1470-ൽ ക്ഷേത്രം പുതുക്കിപ്പണിതതായി ചരിത്ര രേഖകൾ സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.നാല് യുഗങ്ങളിൽ ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം നിലനിന്നുവെന്നു പുരാണങ്ങളിൽ പറയപ്പെടുന്നു. ഭഗവാന്റെ ആരാധനയ്ക്കായി മഹാരാജാവ് ഒരു ക്ഷേത്രം നിർമ്മിച്ച് ശിവലിംഗം സ്ഥാപിച്ചു. ഒരു ദിവസം, ഒരു കാള ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ പ്രവേശിച്ചു.
സൂര്യാസ്തമയത്തിനു മുമ്പ് വീട്ടിലേക്ക് മടങ്ങുമ്പോൾ, വഴിയിൽ തെറ്റി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലേക്ക് വന്നതായിരിക്കാം എന്ന് കരുതുന്നു. ശ്രീകോവിലിനരികിൽ ഇരുന്ന കാള അനങ്ങാൻ കഴിയാത്ത അവസ്ഥയിലായിരുന്നുവെന്ന് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു. ഈ കാളയാണ് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ നന്ദി.
