Pallithanam Mannadi Bhagavathy Mahadevar Temple മണ്ണടി ശ്രീ ഭഗവതി മഹാദേവർ ക്ഷേത്രം കരമന is situated in Pallithanam along the Karamana-Nedumcaud road within the Thiruvananthapuram district. The management of the temple's operations is overseen by the Mannadi Sri Bhagavathy Mahadevar Temple Trust.
About 500 years ago, the ancestors of the Pallithanam family invoked the divine power of the goddess from the Kottarakkara Mannadi temple, bringing her presence to Pallithanam on a Chital deer horn. The sacred items associated with the goddess, such as the Peedom, Sword, and anklets, were worshipped, and rituals were performed in her honor. Madan Tampuran and Yakshiamma were believed to be the protectors of the goddess. Initially, poojas were held once a month, but later, they were shifted to Tuesdays and Fridays. On the 10th day of Medam, a grand festival and the flower-padding ceremony for the goddess were celebrated.
After the ancestors who had brought the goddess passed away, they were worshipped as Mantramurti and Yogeeswaran. However, over time, challenges arose, including irregularities in conducting the poojas. Recognizing the issue, the younger generation of the family took over the temple administration, appointing a priest to ensure regular poojas were conducted. With the Pallithanam family’s support, they revived the proper functioning and maintenance of the temple.
An Ashtamangalya Prashnam was conducted, identifying and addressing deficiencies in the temple's practices. It was decided to expand the temple’s rituals by introducing the worship of deities like Nagar and Brahmarakshas, and the annual Thiruvathira festival in the month of Meenam was extended from three to five, and later to seven days.

500 വർഷങ്ങൾക്ക് മുമ്പ്, പള്ളിത്താനത്തിൽ സന്താനഭാഗ്യം ലഭിക്കാത്തതിനാൽ, പള്ളിത്താനത്തേത് പ്രാചീനമായ തറവാട്ടിലെ പൂർവികർ കൊട്ടാരക്കര മണ്ണടി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ നിന്നും ദേവിയുടെ ശക്തി ഒരു പുള്ളിമാൻകൊമ്പിൽ ആവാഹിച്ച് ദേവിയെ പള്ളിത്താനത്തേക്ക് എത്തിച്ചു. ദേവിയുടെ പീഠം, വാൾ, കണങ്കാൽ എന്നിവയെ ആരാധിച്ചു, അതനുസരിച്ച് പൂജകൾ നടത്തപ്പെട്ടു. മാടൻ തമ്പുരാനും യക്ഷിയമ്മയും ദേവിയുടെ സംരക്ഷകരായിരുന്നുവെന്ന് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു.
ആദ്യത്തിൽ മാസത്തിൽ ഒരിക്കൽ നടത്തപ്പെട്ട പൂജകൾ പിന്നീട് ചൊവ്വ, വെള്ളിയാഴ്ചകൾക്കായി മാറ്റിവെച്ചു. മേട മാസത്തിലെ പത്താമുദയത്തിൽ ദേവിയുടെ ദിവ്യമായ ആഘോഷവും പൂപ്പട ചടങ്ങും നടന്നു. ദേവിയെ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലേക്ക് കൊണ്ടുവന്ന പൂർവികരെ മരിച്ചതിന് ശേഷം മന്ത്രമൂർത്തിയുടെയും യോഗീശ്വരന്റെയും നാമങ്ങളിൽ ആരാധിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.
കാലക്രമേണം, സ്ഥിരമായി പൂജകൾ നടത്തപ്പെടാത്ത പ്രശ്നങ്ങൾ ഉദയമാകും. ഇത് മനസ്സിലാക്കിയ തറവാട്ടിലെ യുവാക്കൾ, പള്ളിത്താനം തറവാട്ടിൽ നിന്ന് ക്ഷേത്രഭരണം ഏറ്റെടുത്തു. അവർ ഒരു പൂജാരിയെ നിയമിക്കുകയും, ഇതര പല പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ നടത്തുകയും ചെയ്തു.
1987-ൽ, ക്ഷേത്ര കമ്മിറ്റി അംഗങ്ങൾ ക്ഷേത്രം പുനർനിർമ്മിക്കാൻ തീരുമാനിച്ചു. ജ്യോതിഷപരമായ വിലയിരുത്തലുകൾക്ക് ശേഷം പുതിയ പൂജാരിയെ നിയമിക്കുകയും, നിർദ്ദേശങ്ങള പ്രകാരം ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൻറെ പരിഷ്കരണങ്ങൾ ആരംഭിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. പുള്ളിമാൻകൊമ്പിനു പകരം ദേവിയുടെ വിഗ്രഹം സ്ഥാപിക്കുകയും, ഗണപതിക്ക് പ്രത്യേക ക്ഷേത്രം നിർമ്മിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. തുടർന്ന് നടത്തിയ ജ്യോതിഷ മൂല്യനിർണ്ണയത്തിൽ ശിവന്റെ സാന്നിധ്യം നിരീക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ടു.
2001-ൽ ആരംഭിച്ച പ്രവൃത്തികൾ, ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ ദേവിക്ക് തുല്യമായ പ്രാധാന്യം ശിവനും നൽകിയതോടെ, ശിവനെ പൂജിച്ച് കിഴക്കേ നട വഴിയായി ദർശനം നടത്താൻ തീരുമാനിക്കപ്പെട്ടു. പിന്നീട്, ക്ഷേത്രം "പള്ളിത്താനം മണ്ണടി ശ്രീഭഗവതി മഹാദേവർ ക്ഷേത്രം" എന്ന നിലയ്ക്ക് പുനർനാമകരണം ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടു.
