Padiyanoor Devi Temple (പടിയന്നൂർ ശ്രീ ചാമുണ്ഡി ദേവി ക്ഷേത്രം) is a Hindu shrine dedicated to Goddess Chamundi, located in Thiruvananthapuram, India. This historic temple is positioned in Poovachal, approximately 30 kilometers from the city of Thiruvananthapuram.
Padiyanoor Sree Chamundi Devi Temple (പടിയന്നൂർ ദേവീക്ഷേത്രം) houses an idol of the goddess Padiyanooramma, who is regarded as an incarnation of Chamundi. The temple also features various deities, including Yakshiymma, Ganapati, Thampuran, Yogeshwara, Nagar, and Brahmarakshas.
The principal festival celebrated here is Makam Thozhal, a three-day annual event occurring in Meenam (March-April) in honor of Chamundi Devi. Other notable festivals include Karthika, which involves Karthika Deepa; Mandala Vratham, associated with the annual Utsavam of Sabarimala; Pooja Vaypu, akin to the Dussera festival (Saraswathy Pooja and Vidyarambham); Ayilya Pooja, where offerings of milk and flowers are made to the serpent God along with special rites; Aiswarya Pooja, conducted on all full moon (Pournami) days; and Vishu Kani, where devotees visit for the Vishukani Darshanam on the first day of the month of Medam.
പടിയന്നൂർ ദേവി ക്ഷേത്രംപുരാതനമായ പടിയന്നൂര്‍ ദേവി ക്ഷേത്രം (പടിയന്നൂര്‍ ശ്രീ ചാമുണ്ഡി ദേവി ക്ഷേത്രം) തിരുവനന്തപുരം ജില്ലയിലെ പൂവച്ചലിലാണ് സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്, തമ്പാനൂരില്‍ നിന്ന് 30 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ അകലെയായി. ഹരിതാഭമായ പാടശേഖരങ്ങളും കുന്നിന്പാതകളുംകൊണ്ട് അലങ്കരിക്കപ്പെട്ട മനോഹര ഗ്രാമമാണ് പൂവച്ചല്‍. തിരുവനന്തപുരം നിന്നും കാട്ടാക്കട വഴി പോകുന്നവർക്ക്, മുളംമൂട് ജംഗ്ഷനില്‍ വലത്തോട്ടു തിരിഞ്ഞ് കുരക്കോണം വഴി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലേക്ക് എത്താം.
ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം ചാമുണ്ഡി ദേവിക്ക് സമർപ്പിതമായതും, പടിയന്നൂരമ്മ എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്ന ദേവിയുടെ വിഗ്രഹമാണ് പ്രധാന പ്രതിഷ്ഠ. ചാമുണ്ഡി ദേവി ഭഗവതി ദേവിയുടെ ഒരു അത്യുഗ്ര രൂപമായി ആരാധിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. ചാമുണ്ഡേശ്വരി ദേവി ആദിപരാശക്തിയുടെ പ്രധാന ഭാവങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണ്. ദേവീമാഹാത്മ്യം പോലുള്ള പുരാതന ഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് കാണാൻ സാധിക്കുന്നത്, ചണ്ഡന്‍, മുണ്ഡന്‍ എന്നീ അസുരന്മാരെ വധിക്കാന്‍ ചണ്ഡികാപരമേശ്വരിയുടെ ശക്തിയായിരുന്നു മഹാകാളി, അഥവാ ചാമുണ്ഡി.
പടിയന്നൂര്‍ ദേവി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ പ്രധാന ഉത്സവം മീനമാസത്തിൽ ആചരിക്കുന്ന മൂന്നു ദിവസങ്ങളിലായി നടത്തുന്ന മകം തൊഴൽ മഹോത്സവമാണ്. ഇതുകൂടാതെ വൃശ്ചിക മാസത്തിലെ കാര്‍ത്തിക ദീപം, മണ്ഡല വ്രതം, ദസറയുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട പൂജ വയ്പ്പ്, ആയില്യ പൂജ എന്നിവയും വിശേഷം പൂജകളിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നു. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ ഉപദേവതകളിൽ യക്ഷിയമ്മ, ഗണപതി, തമ്പുരാന്‍, യോഗേശ്വരന്‍, ബ്രഹ്മരക്ഷസ് എന്നിവരെയും ആരാധിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്.
