Sree Hanuman Swamy Temple, the State Forces recognized the necessity of creating a place of worship for their personnel in the newly developed Cantonment area, leading to the establishment of a temple at Pangode. (ശ്രീ ഹനുമാൻ സ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രം) The temple complex houses five principal deities: Lord Hanuman Swamy, Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu, Lord Ganapathy, and Nagaraja.
In one of the annual exercises conducted around 1836 by the Nair Brigade at Aaruvaamozhi (currently known as Aramboli in Kanyakumari district), an idol of Lord Siva was discovered beneath a peepul tree. The soldiers would offer their prayers to this idol whenever they were stationed there. By the year 1840, the idol was transported to the garrison at Cantonment. In 1940, the Lord Siva idol was relocated to Pangode, alongside an idol of Lord Vishnu that had been installed approximately ten years earlier. Local astrological predictions and community sentiments opposed the transfer of the Lord Hanuman Swamy idol from Cantonment to Pangode. Consequently, the State Forces placed a picture of Lord Hanuman Swamy at Pangode, which bore similar characteristics to the one in Cantonment, situated next to the Lord Siva idol.
Subsequently, an idol of Lord Hanuman Swamy, which had been venerated by the Nair Brigade troops in the Fort Area, was brought to Pangode and installed there. In the southwestern section of the Pangode military area, an ancient idol of Lord Krishna was found in a state of disrepair. Due to its damaged condition, this idol was removed and immersed in the sea in 1986, following the advice of a thanthric, after transferring its powers to the idol of Lord Vishnu. In 1988, the idol of Lord Ganapathy and Nagaas were also installed, along with modifications made to the peetham of Lord Siva.

തിരുവനന്തപുരം നഗരത്തിൽ നിന്ന് 8.3 കിലോമീറ്റർ അകലെയുള്ള പാങ്ങോട് മിലിട്ടറി ക്യാമ്പിന് സമീപമാണ് പ്രശസ്തമായ ശ്രീ ഹനുമാൻ സ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. പാങ്ങോട് ഹനുമാൻ സ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രം നിരവധി സവിശേഷതകൾ കൊണ്ട് സമ്പന്നമാണ്. ഇവിടെയുള്ള ഹനുമാൻ പ്രതിഷ്ഠ വിഷ്ണു ഭക്തൻ എന്ന ആശയത്തിൽ അടിസ്ഥാനമാക്കിയുള്ളതാണ്.
ഹനുമാൻ സ്വാമിയുടെ വലതുവശത്ത് മഹാദേവനും ഇടതുവശത്ത് മഹാവിഷ്ണുവും പ്രതിഷ്ഠ ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നതും ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ മറ്റൊരു പ്രത്യേകതയാണ്. പഴവങ്ങാടി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ സമാനമായി, ഇന്ത്യൻ കരസേനയുടെ മദ്രാസ് റെജിമെൻറ് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ കാര്യങ്ങൾ നിയന്ത്രിക്കുന്നു.
നിലവിലെ നിയമസഭാ സമുച്ചയത്തോട് ചേർന്ന പഴയ കൻറോൺമെൻറ് ഏരിയയിൽ സംസ്ഥാന സേനയ്ക്ക് ഒരു വ്യൂഹം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. 1935-ൽ കൻറോൺമെൻറിൽ നിന്ന് പാങ്ങോടിലേക്ക് പട്ടാളം മാറ്റിയതിന്റെ ഫലമായി, പുതിയ കൻറോൺമെൻറ് ഏരിയയിൽ അവരുടെ സൈനിക പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ ആരംഭിച്ചു.
ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന ചടങ്ങുകൾ മഹാശിവരാത്രി, ശ്രീരാമ നവമി, വിഷുക്കണി, ശ്രീ വിനായക ചതുർത്ഥി, ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണ ജയന്തി, മഹാനവമി, ആയില്യം ചിറപ്പ്, മണ്ഡലകാലം, തൃക്കാർത്തിക, രാമായണമാസാചരണം.
സഹസ്രകലശ പൂജ എല്ലാ വർഷവും ജൂലൈ-ഓഗസ്റ്റ് (കർക്കിടകം-നവമി), (കർക്കിടകം-ദേശമി) മാസങ്ങളിൽ നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു.
ലക്ഷാർച്ചനയും എല്ലാ വർഷവും ജൂലൈ-ഓഗസ്റ്റ് (കർക്കിടകം-നവമി), (കർക്കിടകം-ദേശമി) ദിവസങ്ങളിൽ നടത്തുന്നു.
ഹനുമാൻ ജയന്തി ഉത്സവം ഡിസംബർ-ജനുവരി (ധനു-മൂലം) മാസത്തിൽ ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നു.
