Pazhoor Sree Mahavishnu Temple is located in Kappuvayal, Thariyode, in the Wayanad district of Kerala.
The temple is dedicated to Lord Mahavishnu, who is worshipped as the preserver and protector of the universe in Hinduism. വയനാട് ജില്ലയിലെ കൽപറ്റയിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ഒരു പ്രാചീനക്ഷേത്രമാണ് പാഴൂർ ശ്രീ മഹാവിഷ്ണു ക്ഷേത്രം. കൽപറ്റയിൽ നിന്ന് ഏകദേശം 13.5 കിലോമീറ്റർ ദൂരം (ഏകദേശം 25 മിനിറ്റ് യാത്ര) ദൂരത്തിലാണ് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന പ്രതിഷ്ഠ ശ്രീ മഹാവിഷ്ണുവാണ്.
മകരമാസത്തിലെ തിരുവോണം നാളിലാണ് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ഏഴു ദിവസത്തെ ആറാട്ട് മഹോത്സവം ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നത്.
ആറാട്ട് ദിവസത്ത് രാവിലെ ആചാരപരമായ ചടങ്ങുകൾ പൂർത്തിയായ ശേഷം തെയ്യംപ്രകടനത്തിന് മുമ്പായി വെള്ളാട്ടം നടക്കുന്നു. കൈതോലൻ, കരിഞ്ചന്തൻ, കരുവാൻ, ചന്തടി കരിയാതൻ, ഗുളികൻ തുടങ്ങിയ വിവിധ തെയ്യങ്ങൾ ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ അവതരിക്കുന്നു. ചിങ്ങം മാസത്തിൽ (ഓഗസ്റ്റ്-സെപ്റ്റംബർ) നടക്കുന്ന വിനായക ചതുർത്ഥി, തുലാമാസത്തിലെ നിറപുത്തരി, ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണ ജയന്തി എന്നിവയാണ് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന ഉത്സവങ്ങൾ. ഇതിൽ ആറാട്ടും തെയ്യം പ്രകടനവുമാണ് പ്രധാന ആകർഷണങ്ങളായി കണക്കാക്കുന്നത്.
