പൊങ്ങിനി ശ്രീ ഭദ്രകാളി പരദേവത പുള്ളിമാലമ്മ ക്ഷേത്രം
വയനാട് ജില്ലയിലെ പൊങ്ങിനിയിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന പൊങ്ങിനി ശ്രീ ഭദ്രകാളി പരദേവത പുള്ളിമാലമ്മ ക്ഷേത്രം, കേരളത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും പ്രശസ്തമായ ഭദ്രകാളി ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണ്. കുന്നിൻ പ്രദേശത്താണ് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. "പൊങ്ങിനി" എന്ന പേര് (പൊങ്ങി നീ) ദേവിയെ "സ്വയംഭൂ" എന്ന നിലയിലാണ് സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്, അതായത് ദേവി സ്വയം പ്രത്യക്ഷപ്പെട്ടവളാണ്.ദേവി ഈ ലോകത്തെയും അതിലെ എല്ലാ ജീവജാലങ്ങളെയും സൃഷ്ടിച്ചവളും, അവയുടെ ജീവനും ജീവിതത്തിനും ആധാരമായവളും, അരൂപിണിയായ പരാശക്തിയുടെ അവതാരവുമാണ്. ശ്രീ കാളിദേവിയുടെ രൂപത്തിലാണ് ഇവിടെ ദേവി വാസം ചെയ്യുന്നത്.
മക്കിയാട് തൊണ്ടൻകോട്ട പുള്ളിമാലമ്മ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ നിന്ന് ഷഡാധാര പ്രതിഷ്ഠ അടുത്തകാലത്താണ് ഇവിടെ നടത്തപ്പെട്ടത്. ഈ പ്രതിഷ്ഠ അഴകത്ത് ശാസ്ത്രി ശർമ്മൻ നമ്പൂതിരിയുടെ മുഖ്യ കാർമ്മികത്വത്തിലാണ് നടന്നു.
ഒരു കാലത്ത് നാശോന്മുഖമായിരുന്നുവെന്നും, പൂജകളും മറ്റു ആചാരങ്ങളും നിലച്ച നിലയിലായിരുന്ന ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തെ പഴയ പ്രതാപത്തിലേക്ക് തിരികെ കൊണ്ടുവരാനായി ക്ഷേത്ര സംരക്ഷണ സമിതിയും പ്രദേശത്തെ ഭക്തജനങ്ങളും ഒത്തു ചേർന്നുനടത്തുന്ന പരിശ്രമം അതീവ ശ്രദ്ധേയമാണ്.
